How many books do you borrow at a time from the library?

Reading makes a full man, as Fransis Bacon once pointed out. That's right. Reading is also the best indoor pastime for many people. The process to gain information from books is splendid. It's been a while for me not to borrow books from the library. But now I have just picked up my old habit. I have two library cards from the same library. It's rather huge. I can not tell or estimate how many books they keep but I bet it is huge enough for everyone. Last week, I spent two hours on seeking books. I found 12 and I borrowed them all. I carry them around. I put them in my bedroom, office, handbag so that I can read any time. I want to make sure not a minuted is wasted for nothing. Through reading, I refind the long-lost strength. It's wonderful to feel full again.

i am lazy to read and did not go to library after graduated from college. if not mistaken, i had not been reading books for more than 6 year until today. i prefer to sit in frount of couch and watch television. however, i found that my english is getting poorer and my vocabulary decreased tremendously.

Oh thats sad. Reading really helps you rejuvenate and you will get transported to completely different world or scenario while reading a nice novel. You must not waste your time just by watching television. And yes, it also helps in improving your vocabulary and reading speed. So go and grab a new book, right now!! Cheers!

You have a great fondness for reading, thats why you could pick up 12 books at a time. I read sometimes and read only one book at a time. I don't have much great big libraries near to my place so I read whatever I purchase. Right now I have purchased more than I have read lol I have around 20 books that I have not read and I am still collecting. I think I love buying books more than reading them, strange Also I am a very slow reader, I am not one of those who will finish reading a novel within 3 hours in a day. I would rather spend 2 weeks reading the same thing, the effect of it lasts longer rather than just 3 hours.

wow. You can borrow 12 books at on time? That's really amazing. In my university, I am only allowed to borrow 2 books for maximum at one borrowing for maximum about 3-4 days. I can borrow another books after returning the old ones. If I haven't returned the old ones yet, I won't be allowed to borrow another ones. Do you think it's quite mean for a university? So I think that story will tell you your question, because I can only allowed to borrow 2 books at one time. Note: I often borrow books from special library for Accounting Department. There's also University Library Centre, but it's quite far from my department, and, the books are often newer in our Accounting Library.

I never understood the mystery of reading more than one book at a time. I have read two to three books at a time but not completely, I mostly left the others which I found less intriguing and continued with only one book which was more interesting. Of course once I finish one book I continue reading the others as well.

I too love reading books. Books are my life. There is no single day which I spent without reading a book. I go to the library every Saturday. I borrow two books. I read the two books through the week and then return them the next Saturday. Books are a great source of knowledge and power, even the deadliest weapon in the world is a book. I normally have two reading session, one in the morning and one at night before sleeping, on holidays I spent the whole day reading books.

When I was a student in our university I can only borrow 3 books. The library administration limit 3 books per student to maintain the borrowing and lending of books. I love reading boosk, even after now, I still read books. I never stop reading books. REading completes my imagination. Through reading it can help me to be creative and it completes my life. Just like what you feel.

I haven't been to the library for a couple of years, now but I used to take out as many as I could and try to get through them all as fast as I could before the due date. The first dog I ever trained,I didn't know what I was doing and took out something like 15 books and five videos on dog training and added all the knowledge together (that made sense to me, anyways) and used that to train him with. He gets his toys out of the toy box and puts them away when he is done playing, he 'wipes his paws off' when he comes in from outside. another time I got out all of the VC andrews books that I possibly could and read the whole set of more than 25 books in two months. Libraries are great when you have the time to go there and time to read what you borrow.

I don't use library books anymore because the price of becoming a member is ridiculous now. I have checked out a few of the librarys here where I live and a membership for a year is over a hundred dollars. Well, it just isn't worth it for me. So I just go to second hand book stores and garage sales and such, to buy my books. And then when I am done with them I hand them down to someone else to read. I also get hand me downs a lot so I don't have to buy them very often. I probably read about 10 books a year now, but I used to read about 30 a year at one time. Since I have started earning more on the internet I spend more time now doing work than reading.

Hi, magic9. I usually will check out about, 5 to 8 books from the library when I go. I always seem to get more books that I may need too. I love checking out books from the library. I have not checked any books out since May, I believe.

Typically I will get one book at a time.. but if I finish it quickly I'll go back to the library for another. I don't want too many books at once because I can only read 1 book at a time.

I am an avid reader, but I don't borrow books from the library. I personally prefer to buy books for myself because of the fact that then I am able to read them in my own time and I also don't have to make the trek to the library with the children in tow with me. If I wasn't a person that always had children with me I think that I would be more likely to visit the library on a regular basis. If I was to start visiting the library on a regular basis, I would probably check out two books every two weeks because I average reading one book per week.

I typically borrow one to three books at a time. So I am ensured enough time to actually finish them. Though that hasn't worked out the last few trips to the library where I have had to recheck out books, and will have to do so again as I've been busy with starting school and dealing with some big projects my reading time isn't as large as I want and I'm only half way through both books I have out.

I borrow about 3-5 books...:D Especially when I'm doing research or I need to make a concept paper...:DI think the maximum number of books that one can borrow from our school library is 5...:D

Wow, 12 books! I would be overwhelmed at having to read so many books with a deadline. Hehe. :) Sometimes I wish we had vast libraries here too, but sadly we don't. Or probably, the ones we have are more of reference libraries than ones where people could actually borrow books to read for leisure. Although I probably should try to visit some before i make such sweeping assumptions. It's been so long since I took out books from a library. The last time being back in college. When I did take out books to just read for my own pleasure I would take no more that three books at a time so i can be sure to finish them all and take them back on time. :) I wish you would post a photo of your library

when in the university, i usually borrowed two books, becasue i couldnt read too much at the same time. in fact, i also could read in the library, and also could change them at any time. but now, i'm working. though i only can borrow 2 each time, cause it's a rule in that library. but that's enough to me.

Well friend. I live a very busy life and I don't enough time to read many books. When I go to the library, I usually take out 3/4 books at a time. I read them after my meals of midday and supper and the times when the electricity supply is disrupted in my area. Happy reading.

I usually only borrow two or three at a time, but once I found way too many great books that I just had to read, so I got them all! I think it was around 10, but I could be mistaken. That is what happens when the library stocks up on all the newest books! But I love it when they do, because then I can look forward to what new movies are going to be made!

I usually borrow between one and three depending on how fast I can get them read. I'm constantly writing papers for college, and reading 30 to 60 page chapters for my classes, and writing articles, and a book out. So needless to say, by the time I get done with all of that, my mind doesn't feel like reading. However, I try to stick with reading a new novel every library visit. It's nice to read for not only the enjoyment, but because I learn something, such as a new word or phrase. Maybe some day I'll be able to increase my reading time.
