Guys, I opened this discussion to hear your different ideas/forecasts about on whose teams in this NBA season will meet in the Finals.. It is too early to say but based on their performances in the eliminations, we can figure out who will be the top 2 teams to compete in the Best Of 7 NBA Finals.. If i were to ask, I'd like to see Kobe and LeBron in the Finals!! Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers baby! Since the Lakers haven't won over the Cavs in this elimination round, it is great to see how the Lakers will get its sweet revenge in the Finals.. Fearless Forecast: Lakers will win in 5 games!

Yea it is pretty early in the year, but I think this year it will be the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals again for the west and the Cleveland Cavaliers will represent the East.

Yeah, that's the matchup everyone is loving to watch.. Especially if it will be decided in a Game 7 Winner Take All game.. Can't wait to see what will happen.. The Lakers have a big chance of getting into the Finals if Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest and Derek Fisher is 100% healthy.. We all know that Kobe is still hurting his index finger in his shooting hand but it is manageable and we hardly see the effects of it..

well, as you said, it is too early to tell. but i guess teams are now positioning themselves well for a playoff spot. there will be changes of course in the standings, but strong teams are heavily favored to advance to the playoff and go deeper in the post-season. the eastern conference is a battle among the cavs, celtics and magic. the darkhorse is the hawks. the competitive western conference is a toss up among lakers, nuggets, and mavs. but spurs and suns can pull surprises. whatever it will be, i am excited to see lakers and celtics again.

That's another good match up to watch, the Lakers and the Celtics.. But I'm sure, we can't count the Magic out.. Since they are hungry and badly want a revenge with the Lakers.. If Dwight Howard gets some help from his teammates constantly then they are big Finals contender that is if they can beat the other top teams in the East again just like what they did the previous conference..

I'd like to see Cleveland play the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals. But if I were a betting man, I'd say a Cavs-L.A. Lakers Final is what we'll end up seeing. David Stern has wet dreams about Kobe and LeBron going head to head in June. As much as I don't want to see L.A.back in the Finals, ABC and ESPN do as that would be one of the most watched NBA Finals ever.

Well, earlier in the season, I thought that it would be another Lakers Celtics game at the Finals, but then the Caveliers proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Then, after the AllStar Break, The Dallas Mavericks has been unstoppable and they are on a 13 game winning streak and counting. So right now, my predictions are that there are 6 teams that has promise and a high chance of making the Conference Finals and possibly getting to the grand stage - NBA Finals Eastern Conference The obvious 3 are Cavs, Celtics and Magic. In these 3 teams, I think that the Boston Celtics are perhaps going to be out the earliest. Their team is old, and they've not been playing great lately, losing to the lowly Grizzlies and Nets. Orlando Magic is still finding it's winning ways, they're winning, but not in long streaks. The Cavs however, had been on a 13 game winning streak and still rolling even with Lebron and Shaq injured. I think that in this conference, it will be Orlando VS Caveliers in the East Finals. Cavs - They have Lebron and their role players are great in supporting their superstar. They can defend, and they can score the ball quite well. They've gotten a well needed boost from Antawn Jamison, he can ease the pressure off Lebron on the offensive end, his range is from the paint to the three point line, if he plays well, I don't think Orlando has a chance. However, with Shaq injured and Varejao playing as Center, they will be dominated by Dwight Howard, just like last year. Magic - They have Dwight Howard, a great defender, defensive and offensive threat in the paint. He can grab a lot of rebounds also. They also have Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson who can all drive, shoot the 2 and the 3. I think that offensively, the Magic is better than the Cavs, but can they contain Lebron? Time will tell. My prediction is that even though they have home court advantage, the Cavs will still lose this in 6 games, meaning the Magic will be in back to back NBA finals. West - This conference is probably more exciting, because although the following 3 teams are the favourites to win, they could face a suprise exit early in the playoffs since the other teams in the West are also great teams. My 3 picks would be Lakers, Nuggets and Mavericks. The Lakers could face a possible first round exit if they face the Portland Trailblazers who has their number. The Mavs will probably cruise through the early rounds until they meet Denver. Of course, this can all change if Lakers lose a few more games and the Mavs keep winning and overtake the Lakers for the first place in the West. However, regardless of seeding, I still think that the Mavs will be against the Lakers in the West Finals. Lakers - Kobe, what else can I say. They've also got Ron Artest, a defensive specialist and Lamar Odom as a great 6th man. Paul Gasol and Andrew Bynum are great partners in the paint and Derek Fisher provides great experience. However, except for Odom and Shannon Brown, the bench is not very effective. This could be a huge disadvantage for them because the Mavs, has Shawn Marion, Beubois, JJ Barea as great bench players who can score tons of points and pressure the Laker's Defence. Mavs - As mentioned above, their bench could be a huge factor if they are going to win. Also, key players like Caron Butler, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry needs to do all they can do score and contain Kobe. They are mentally disadvantaged also because the Lakers has their number, they've beaten them a lot of times this season. So, I think that the Mavs will probably win and go to the Finals because they are on such great form. That means they will go against Orlando Magic, which they've beaten this year. But the result? I don't know...
