emergency surgery? I did- I had an emergency c-section with the birth of my daughter. And this morning my niece had to have an appendectomy. Sometimes you just feel so helpless. I was getting my daughter ready for school when we got the call. My son is ill, so I haven't been able to go to Children's hospital..my niece is 16. I did send flowers. And I will try and visit in the evening when my hubby gets home.

Yes, just this past summer, you probably remember because I started a discussion about it, asking the same question as you are, lol. I went into the hospital due to lower abdominal pain and some abnormal bleeding. Once there they told me I was pregnant, but I shouldn't have been because I had an IUD which had not moved out of place. After an ultrasound they discovered it was an ectopic pregnancy and I had to have emergency surgery. Turns out the pregnancy had already ruptured the falopian tube. I ended up having both tubes removed during the surgery anyways, so now I should be incapable of getting pregnant again... I hope anyways.

That's right, I had forgotten. Got the news niece is ok. If I had been in your shoes, I'd have been scared.

Glad she's okay. I wasn't really scared, just a bit surprised because when I went into the hospital I was told my IUD had probably just shifted, and that's what was causing the pain and bleeding... then a few hours later I'm told I'm pregnant, and that was terrifying. Learning it was an ectopic was actually a bit of a relief, sad to say. I now look at the whole thing as a blessing. I got the IUD to buy me some time until I had a chance to get my tubes tied, so basically the ectopic was just natures way of saying it's time to get it done, and they weren't just tied (which isn't always 100%)... they were REMOVED!! It all worked out for the best as far as I'm concerned.

Hi ersmommy. No, I've never had an emergency surgery. I did get kind of close when I was giving birth to my oldest, but I was able to give birth to him naturally instead. Happy myotting!

Nope I haven't ever had to have a emergency surgery. My sister in law had to have a emergency C-section with her 3rd child due to it's heart beat stopped..when she was only six months along..he was then rushed off to have heart surgery..and they found he only had one kidney..and he is autistic. It is scary when something like that happens..the suddenness of needing a surgery can be overwhelming and I do hope that your niece is doing fine..
