From personal experience, right after you quit a job for X reason, you go onto the next one, but sometimes not finding a job takes away most of your happyness when having no results... but when you do find one you bounce back...

I have always thought it was best to have a job before you quit a job. That helps keep alot of the unhappiness away. And cut down on the stress too!

With me, I would never quit a job unless I had a back-up plan. I guess it's different when you get fired or laid off, but QUITTING is a choice. I would make sure I had a job lined up for immediately after I quit the job I was working at, so as to avoid that unhappiness and insecurity.
