can we backup ps3 games on our hd

guys i m planning to buy ps3 but i have doubt that am i able to back up my ps3 games on hd so i can play without inserting disk so i can maintain disk without any scratch
so anyone knows??///

I think that is possible though. I saw some Chinese vendors can rip the games and store them in the ps2 internal hard drive, so, it shouldn't be a problem with ps3 right? There should be a way to do it, but sorry, I am still an amateur, not having too much knowledge about it yet. You can search online and find those tutorial guideline on ps3. By the way, you might need to spend some money to modify your own game system though.
