or if this is your time of the year to be warm how has it affect that? this winter has been crazy for TN.. i have lived here for collectively about 12 years and only once 14 years ago was there a foot of snow that fell.. usually we get 1 light 1-3 inches (if that) a year and maybe 1 or 2 dustings and usually it all melts pretty fast if not immediately.. well this winter we had like 4 days straight of snowing off and on and ice everywhere and today we have had 6 inches and expecting more in 1 day! and snow tomorrow! i know the past couple of winters for you northerners have been rough but usually tn is so mild so i guess i know how you feel (as in it being so unusual since it could never equal amount.. and i have never seen it stay so cold temperature wise either!! this floridian wants to go home NOW!! how has this winter been for you?

out here the winter has been much more colder than previous years and i must say it did affect the daily routine. early morning and evening routines were hampered and we preferred staying indoors the maximum possible. btw - winter here broke an 8 year record...

I've pretty much forgotten about last winter. Winter is not a memory that i really hold onto. LOL This winter hasn't been that bad, well not until two days ago, when we got totally wallopped by snow, and the bus took one hour to travel one mile. I've never been in that situation in my life!!

It was interesting when people first said we'd have a mild winter. I knew different. This winter has been the worst in a long stretch. We have been snowed in 5 times. Each time for 2 up to 5 days. The one particular one that will forever be in my memory is we lost power - took the kids to the neighbors - they lost power the next day so packed everyone up and went to my daughters. We live in a 5 bedroom farm house and now you have 5 people in a 2 bedroom appartment. We stayed there for 3 days. Power was back up at home, but trees took out the power line to the well so no water for another 3 days. It was interesting but kind of reminds me of my childhood because we had winters like this a lot when I was growing up. I can say this, at least we didn't get the ice storms that came through the year before because we lost 1/2 our tree line due to breakage.

ours was so bad we couldnt get out of our driveway and the streets had inches of ice on them then inches of snow which for TN is not possible usually

in my hometown it's as usual...temperatures below 5 degrees at its coldest, and 15-23 degrees at its hottest. but at the place where i'm mostly staying, its colder than previous winters i've encountered. temperatures have dipped well below 10 degrees compared to previous coldest temperatures between 10-15 degrees.

Well this year has been very cold. I think colder than last year. Last year the temperature only dropped to like -1. That wasnt bad i could manage. But this winter it got extreme. In the morning it could be around -6 and in the evening even colder. It was so cold that you had to pack yourself in 3-4 layers of clothes just to feel ok.

Hey moonlit! I am from NY and so far we have had some very cold temps, but not alot of snow thank goodness! But, there is still plenty of Winter left! We have been very lucky so far, but who knows what is going to happen! Right now it is 11:20PM and it has gone down to 14 degrees and I am so happy to be inside and getting ready to get into my nice warm bed! And that is about the only place that it is warm, believe me! The rest of my small apartment is just barely warm! I have had my oven on in my kitchen/office where my computer is since the radiator in my kitchen doesn't work at all and I don't want the manitanance men to touch it! The last time the did anything in my kitchen they killed my computer! My Mom lives in Florida and she wants me to come down to see her soon and I told her I would prefer to wait until the end of March when it is warmer so I can to to the pool!lol
