For me, religion must not be debated. Whatever religion you're belong to, nobody should say;you will not be saved because you are not in our religion...lol. I encountered people like that. In fact, they really want to debate with me but I just told them that, no need to do that... I won't really convert in your religion. I hope you will respect mine. HOw about you? Is't good to debate your religion?

I believe that each one of us should respect each other's beliefs and it includes religion. To be honest with all of you I am not a religious person. I used to be one in high school. I was even a choir member in our Church and also a commentator. However, even when I was so involved with the religious activities in our church I don't debate with my friends or people I know who has a different religion. When they ask me for my opinion I tell them what I believe but I don't tell them that what I believe is the one that is right or correct. I hate it when they force me to believe in what they believe in. One thing though that I am fond of is challenging the beliefs of one person by asking questions and giving them my opinions. I make them think and ask them questions but I don't tell them whether I believe their answer ir right or wrong.

Its ok to debate religion with someone who will hear you out. If u debate with a religion Hothead then you are in endless debate. i tried once but it just makes things worse. Try explaining to someone who is a religious Hothead is like telling the pros of protecting the earth from global warming to a USA republican.

What has global warming got to do with anything? To everything there is a season - seasons come and go, be it a time of warming or cooling. Tons of snow and ice all over the country - very interesting indeed. For the sake of this discussion and to stay on track here - I am firmly planted in what is REAL to me, therefore, there's no need to debate, but I don't pass up opportunities to "discuss" aspects of beliefs.

Yeah, it's good to discuss but not to the point that you are arguing of something and yet both parties have closed minded to open up their minds for the information or something; better walk it out to have peace.

I have to agree with you on this one. I am the kind of person who will respect all religions and all the people in those religions until they try to convert me or to tell me that my religion is wrong. I am a wiccan at heart and before you freak out, NO I DO NOT WORSHIP THE DEVIL. This is something that is thought in ignorance and if you researched the religion, you would find that our number one rule is: The three fold rule. In wicca it is thought that whatever energy whether good or evil, that you send out, will be returned to you three fold, so we don't do bad. I can't tell you how many people have told me that I am going to hell because I don't worship God. But you know what the funny thing is, I do, just in my own way. I think that it is wrong to make others feel badly because they don't believe in something that you think they should. Everyone is different and they all have the right to their own DIFFERENT belifes. I think that you are a smart person to not want to get involved because with some people it is all black and white and no in between. Good luck and happy mylotting.

wow! That's new to my ear Wicca but whatever is that I still respect it as long as you don't harm any people. It's your decision or belief to belong in that group. Nobody has the right to say any negative remarks against you. :)

I don't believe any religion should be questioned or insulted. Every religion relys on the same principle of do unto others as you you would have done unto you, EVERY religion has the GOD figure, EVERY religion has the son of god or the messenger of god figure. Every religion is based on the same stories just twisted and warped through time by the seperation of society throughout time. I myself have come to a point of pretty much being agnostic where I don't really believe in any religion. More, I believe every religion has its points, but they are all that same... So why follow any one religion and live UNDER someone else, when I can live free of any form of tyrany or leadership and believe what I want to believe when I want to believe it... In closing, no, Religion should not be debated, disscussed?? YES! But not debated to the point of racial discrimination as it has been throughout the past...

I've encountered one who does something like that and saying other religion. Well, I just listen to Him and I respect every one's beliefs. I did not convert to his religion, even though I sometimes I don't like some of the practices of Catholic I still Love being Catholic. The main thing is We all believe there is GOD. :)

Yeah, it's not about religion that matters it's all about one's self. If you will not change your behaviour then nothing will happen even how holy your religion is.

We can debate our religion. But when we will debate about our religion than we should talk about other religion. That's it. If we respect our religion then we should also respect another religion. So follow the rule to debate the religion.

I usually noticed having debate on religion; even cool they were; they can't control themselves to insist themselves that they were really correct until trouble happened. :( For me, it's not really good to debate better to discuss and if you found out that they will still insist on something then better give way or walk away.

I don't debate with others on matters regarding religion. I firmly believe that all religions based their teachings on love, and salvation. There is really no right or wrong with any religions. There' also no religion which is better than the other, for that matter. That's why I always study religions with an open mind, be it from the Holy Bible, the Quran, or the Buddhist scriptures. Human beings like to compare - they tend to side with what they believe and will not hesitate to defame other religions so that they feel superior. That is the root cause for all religious wars throughout human history.

So, as what I've said, if possible nobody should say, our religion is true or something...thanks to your comment.

Debating religion is pointless, conversing about Truth is another matter entirely. I find that all too many people of faith are afraid to contrast and compare their beliefs with someone else. I always wonder what they are afraid of. If what you believe is true, it will bear out and if it is not, why would you want to continue believing it?

If you will ask me, there's nothing to afraid of what I've believed in but because they are always attacking my religion so I have to defend it and neither I am afraid comparing each beliefs.
