i have never expressed this online to any of my mylot friends before today, but i am hearing impaired. i was not that way all my life. i was injured in an abusive relationship. i have just started to accept this fact, and not be so hateful and angry about this past yeart. whew! forgiveness feels good sometimes. not for him (former abuser), but for me. it has nothing to do with him. i have moved on and finally decided to deal with life as it is...ya know, play with the cards that i am dealt. i also appriciate my blessings and the physicall health that i DO have. cause it could be a whole lot worse. :). anyway, i am completely gone in one ear and have to wear a hearing aid in the other to hear what i can. very hard decision to go with my doctors on. part of being in denial and the shame that comes with wearing a hearing aid (at least that's the way i thought before). but, i have decided to start just working with it. i have to admitt now that i have submitted to it, it's not as bad as i thought. now, the only thing is that i would like to know are there any free programs online that will help be able to get the most out of ..watching video, for example. my hospital insurance has been able to help me with a few things for offline. i just love to watch video and listen to music online and was wondering if there are any other hearing impaired people out there in mylot land that can help me find some good free programs for us. i don't mind paying eventually, if i have to. i just would like to find out what's out there for us online to help make our experience more enjoyable. thanks alot, in advance for all you guys help.
