Do you buy your clothes new or used?

I know several people who prefer buying their clothes at a consignment thrift store because they think the clothes are just as nice. However, I also know people who will only buy new clothes from the mall or department stores. Which do you prefer and why?

I buy most of my clothes from the thrift store. Unless Walmart is having a clearance sale that I just can't pass up. I generally don't buy anything for full price.. except for socks and underwear which I buy at Walmart so it's pretty cheap. Shoes I always try to get a buy one get one free deal.. or at least a good sale. I have found clothes at the thrift store that have been Brand new with tags still on them.. and some look as if they weren't even worn. I don't have a problem with saving $20 or $30 for each pair of pants.. that's money I could easily use somewhere else!

Yes, I think most people feel that way. Why would you want to spend more than you have to on basics? Simple things are great to get for cheap, it is the show stoppers that I myself am willing to pay a bit more for too!

I do both, I think that is the key to getting a interesting personal style. You mix high end with low end, new stuff with vintage stuff, and so on. That way nobody else will end up wearing the same outfit as you, which I think is good. So I have no problem with either option, and I do both frequently!

I always buy my clothes new. I could never imagine wearing someone else's clothes, unless it's a close friend or relative, it just wouldn't seem right. It's just totally gross even if the clothes have been cleaned they were still someone else's before. Ew.

I buy both used and new items of clothing. If I see a nice item fo clothing whilst I am out shopping, I will purchase it. However, when I am at home on eBay, I will generally look out for both new and used because there are some serious bargains on that site for used clothing. For example, my last purchase was for 5 genuine 501 Levi jeans. Together, they came to under £20

of course i prefer buying new clothes but buying used clothes is also fine with me. i've tried online shopping and i think it's cool. the mall prices are way higher and the used clothes is cheaper. :D

For myself, I only buy new clothes from the shop or shopping mall. Because I'm afraid the owner of the second-hand clothes is someone with skin desease. As you know, such desease can be spreaded by such easy touching. And such desease is very difficult to cure. Of course, it is still possible that the new clothes hanging in the shop have been tried by any body with such disease. But anyway, the risk is a little bit small. I think.

Hi aprildowling! I both buy used and new clothes. My one reason for buying used clothes is that most of those clothes I buy are designer clothes. If they are slightly used, I buy them because they tend to be cheaper than the mall price. Some of them are very well taken care of that no one would noticed that they are already used. But most of my clothes are bought at the malls and specialty stores. It would really be good if I am the one who will be the one to use them first. Happy mylotting!

I don't mind buying 2nd hand clothes at the thrift shops. In fact, i hardly buy new ones nowadays. Clothes from the thrift shops are usually unique and of course cheaper!. I just clean them well before using though.
