I never thought that Khuay could be that much fun!

July 2008 was when I adopted the brothers, Willy and Khuay. Willy was "Braveheart" from the start. He was the one they couldn't keep in the box of kittens, when I put them in the canvas bag and carried them in the grocery store Willy was the one who leaned out of the bag and watched the world go by. His brother was laying in the bottom of the sack with his brother standing on him. When we got to the check out Willy was the one who hopped out of the sack and was on the conveyor to the check out scanner. I just knew Khuay would be the one who was hiding all the time. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! Khuay took a few months to adjust, but he has turned out to be the little terror that I figured his brother would be. Willy seems to have swapped places and is the reserved of the two cats. Yes, this is leading to something, it's leading to last night. I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed. Khuay was keeping me company when he spotted his brother wandering down the hallway towards the bedroom. Khuay hunkered down, wiggled his butt in readiness to pounce, and finally sprung into the air. He sailed through the air towards his target and suddenly he collided with....Abby, the pit/lab mix. I wish again I had a video camera! The sights and sounds were hilarious! Khuay managed to wrap his front paws around the top part of Abby, with claws in the back. His hind feet swung under Abby's belly and they too hung on. Of course there was a huge "OOOOFFFFFF" out of Abby as Khuay knocked the wind out of Abby. Khuay released his claws and slid off of Abby's ribs, and he landed in a sitting position...until he flew off in a flash of white and red, the red was both his points and his embarrassment from missing his prey. I laughed until I was weak...I am so amazed at how funny and out going that cat is, in comparison to how he was when he first joined my family. Have you adopted a kitten and were surprised that they turned out different than what you expected?

Thanks for the chuckle! I can imagine your poor dog was so stunned to be pounce attacked like that! Good thing she took it in stride tho the cat had alot to be sorry for and hopefully apologized later. I'll bet Willy was snickering in the backround too! Our cat Cleo is the pack leader of 2 cats and our dog. BUT not out in the world!! We took both girl cats to the vet for their check up prior to getting them fixed. Cleo was always the brave one and Delilah, the shy easy going one. BUT at the vets office, they switched temperments completely. Delilah was the brave one, walking out and introducing herself to the vet and wanting to explore the exam room. Cleo was hiding in the back of the carrier under the pillow and had to be rather forcibly dragged out. She shook the whole time and looked so pitiful while Delilah took everything in stride, even the shots while Cleo was terrified the whole time. Poor little Cleo tried to hide her face in my beloved's sleeve as if it she couldn't see out, all the scary stuff would go away. When we brought them home again, they went back to their usual roles! Cleo was first out of the crate and off to run and play with our dog while Delilah strolled out and sat down to face her face... One never knows what the cats will do next! Be Well!!

I laughed at what your wrote. Kuttens can be so funny. I guess we cant always tell their personality when we first buy or adopt a new kitten. My cat Scamper, when she was very young, lived up to her name and expectations. When we saw her at the rescue centre, she was in a big glass cage, and she was the only really active kitten there, cliombing and scrabbling on the glass. From the moment we bought her hoime, she was into things. Climbing curtains, racing here and there, climbing the wire doors and getting rolled up in the tent. I had more fun watcvhing her, than watching the TV.

When Elaine adopted Scamp, he was bullet proof! He was everywhere and into everything, and then he suddenly switched. He because the biggest coward you ever saw. I call him "Scare-dy Scamp" for a reason. He's less afraid than he was at a year old, but he's still not real brave (not real smart either I might add.)

Yes, my cat Precious. I don't have any digital photos of him as a kitten, but I wish I did. Anyway, When my mom got him from a litter of kittens at our local vet, He was so quiet, and so reserved. He was only five weeks old. He was too little for my mom to feel confertable putting him in a carrier, so she put him on her lap and held him. He curled right up and fell asleep on her lap. That afternoon when I came home from school, my mom introduced him to me. He was the most adorable kitten you ever saw. He shyly walked up at me after coming out behind my sister to see who this strange thing was that walked into the room was. (my sister was watching him up in my room) and I thought he was so cute. However, it only took a day or two for his kitten side to come out and to show how adventureous he could be. Getting in every place he could possibly get, and attacking every little toy he could possibly get his paws on. He was even interested in a peice of string I had hanging on the bed above the one he was sitting on (I had bunkbeds at the time, and I slept on top) It was just so cute. It was during this time I also discovered his love for the camera. I even have an old porlroid of him sitting on my bed and walking up to sniff the camera as I pulled it out. Too bad I don't own a scanner. His kitten photos would've been priceless.
