Tips fpr someone new on here...

I would love to get some tips on how to really make money on this site. I have commented a lot, made some friends, and started discussions..I have been here over 2 weeks and have an earnings of just over one dollar (US)...Can anyone give me some tips on how to improve my earnings? How much does a person need to post to see good results?

First and foremost, welcome to myLot!
It is not the quantity as much as the quality of what you post. Starting a discussion is not enough. You must then go amd comment on all the responses that it receives if you want to earn form it because we do not earn for what others post. It is not really a discussion unless the original poster gets back and interacts with those who respond.
Make your posts of quality and informative, trying to add something to the topic.
The only way to earn here is by being active and posting and you can also add relevant photos when starting your discussions. Make sure they are not covered by copyright.
If you have friends, ask then to join using your referral link then you will earn too if they are actively participating.

It's all very logical if you stop and think about what a discussion is offline, and here is no different.
You ask a question and others respond to you and then you just continue the discussion by commenting back to them, just like you would if you were having a conversation offline.
Bear in mind that all that YOU type will earn for YOU, as long as it is within the Guidelines and wherever you type it, whether it is in your own discussions or responses and comments on discussions started by others.

You need to be active and participate in discussions, and your posts shoule be of a good quality, which means more than 4 lines, be descriptive and have substance. You should also comment on the responses you receive as you are only paid for what you do, and not what others do. Some will post discussions, and leave them thinking they will earn for the responses they receive, but it doesn't work that way. You are only paid for what you do and not what others do. Your comments also need to be quality and not just a thank you for your response,and you won't earn for those either. So, if you wnat to earn, be active, and post quality, as if you don't post quality, you will earn ver little or nothing at all. I hope this has helped you understand how to increase your earnings. Thank you for your response, it does help to get things is simple language. For example it was very helpful to me when you said that discussions should be more than 4 lines, that is part of what I was a bit confused about. I read and reread all the guidelines, as suggested by others, but reading the rules is not the same thing as having people say what really works.
