Is CBS playing Politics?

Yesterday CBS announced that it would not allow an ad for a gay dating site to be aired during the Super Bowl. They claim that: "After reviewing the ad, which is entirely commercial in nature, our standards and practices department decided not to accept this particular spot,". I am not sure if many of you have seen some of the prior Super Bowl ads, but Bud, and Go Daddy are a staple on Super Bowl ads, and both have had very questionable ads in the past. To make matters worse, CBS allowed Focus on the Family (the far right wing conservative religious group headed by republican supporter James Dobson) to air it's ANTI ABORTION ad featuring Tim Tebow. Do you think that CBS is playing politics here?

I guess you hadn't heard that CBS is Liberal bias huh? Oh, wait I suppose the conservatives are wrong about that one too since their cool with anti abortion messages but not gay dating. But, by the way, I loved the Bud horses playing football the one year.

Ah, but, that taskr has never stopped conservatives before, so what's different with this time?

All adverts that were legally correct should have been able to be shown during intervals at the Super Bowl. A gay dating site sounds fine to me. It would appeal to some of the population. An anti abortion advert also sounds fine to me. Perhaps the time of the day should be evening for such topics. The CBS should review what is acceptable to it.
