Saving the tiger in the year of the tiger..!

Russia and twelve other Asian nations pledged to save the tiger and double the number of this big cat by 2022. These countries are home to the Siberian and Bengal tiger spices. The tigers are endangered of becoming extinct due to poaching and making them as domestic pets.
This is a historic event but the delegates sad that the initiative has no fund to spare. they will have to get the assistance of the World Bank and other institutions to get money.
The declaration will be approved by the Head of States in Russia in September. It is high time that policis be taken to save the remaining tigers and all the wildlifes on earth.

I hope they get the money. Doesn't the WWF get involved in campaigns such as this because they are more than aware of the plight of endangered tigers around the world?

Hi there
I think the WWF has their own program for the tigers. We can assume that the reason they are not there is because it was a gathering of politicians.
Another reason might be that they are just waiting for the outcome of the convention.

It's about time that efforts be done to save these tigers from extinction and it is too bad that they say they have no funds no have to resort to "borrowing" from the World bank and other institutions. However, considering that at least 13 nations have joined in the effort, and if indeed the intention is sincere, hey could always spare funds from their own treasury or appeal to the private sector or private organizations in their respEctive jurisdiction for assistance for the purpose and not rely on the World bank alone. Otherwise, nothing might come out of it. It is illogical for these nations to be pledging to save these tigers from extinction without having at least assured thAT THEY HAVE THE FUNDS OR AT LEAST THAT THEY CAN IMMEDIATELY RAISE THE NECESSARY FUNDS. So if they are sincere, they should put their money where their mouth is.
