Are people virtually more intimate or alienated?

Have you ever come across this situation? When you hang out with friends, you don’t chat with each other in the subway. While he/she is playing PSP; you are chatting over QQ by phone. With the advancing of internet technology, are people virtually more intimate or alienated?

i have been with those situations a lot. my husband is now watching tv while i am mylotting here. we're not done yet with out dinner. my son is playing computer games. this is the usual scene in the house.

we have faced the same situation,many times i wanna give up computer,and plan to cost time to together with my friends and parents,but i found it is very hard,the internet have more turned on than talking with my parents.
