No best response these days?

I have been responding to a few discussions since I joined back mylot. But I haven't got a single best response out of them. I can't find any reason behind that, but I really want to know. I try giving the best response, with answering every question in the discussion and have a good english as well. But still no best response these days? Can you suggest why is this happening?

There's no particular reason why this is happening. It all comes down to who the discussion starter choose as the best response. I got some best responses without even expecting it. Just put some effort in responding, eventually you will get it.

Try to respond to discussions with no responses. Pick a difficult one. Write something interesting, share some thoughts, be clever.. After a week, if there's only one or two responses in that discussion then you have a 50-50 chance of getting the best response.

To an extent, what I think it also depends on the mood and thoughts of the starter of the discussion. I generally give best repose to the first comment in may a situations. In many other situations, I give best response to the discussion whicn has the longest thread, lets say the comment of yours, which has a chance now to become the best response!

When I first started, I didn't get them either, but the longer I had been here, then I would start getting them. There is no benefit to them anyway, just an ego booster, as best responses won't help our earnings either way. I wouldn't worry about it though, as there is nothing that you are doing wrong. It is just that the discussion started, felt that another users respones answered the questiong better than yours. Just keep responding and you will get them in time. I know, I myself, don't expect to get them when I do. You just have to do your best and hope for the best. That is all anyone can co. Hang in there and it will happen.
