How important is attitude?

As we grow older most of us realize the important part that attitude plays in our life. It is for example, much more important than facts. We cannot change the past and often we can't change our circumstances, what we can change is the way we look at life. Every day we have a choice regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. we cannot change the way others will act or the fact that our life here may end at any time but we can decide to accept each day with gratitude. It has been said that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it. Would you agree?

attitude is very, very important. think of this, pose: if you don't have the proper attitude to go to work in the morning, if you have a regular job, what can you expect the rest of the day? attitude also plays a very important role in the things we do... if we don't have a good and positive attitude in responding to mylot, there's a whole lot of difference, not only in terms of content but also in choosing topics to respond with or posting new ones...

I think you have been reading Dr Phil's book called Life Strategies. I have read it twice and am reading it again for the third time. It is all about attitude and how we perceive the things that happen to us and around us. And it is almost exactly written as you have written it here. You are a very perceptive person and I hope your great attitude gets you far in life because it sounds like you have a great attitude. I like to think I have the same attitude as you but it is a learning process as life goes on and not something that is just there.

Hi chrislotz, Thank you for the compliment. I have never read Dr Phil's book and I'm surprised that the wording is almost the same. I do try to have a good attitude but as you say it is a learning process. Thank you to for responding. Blessings

I have to agree with the statement that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it. I think attitude is everything and how someone thinks and acts has a lot to do with how they are treated. Someone with a bad attitude will usually get treated badly and someone with a great attitude may not always get what they want but things usually work out for them.

I agree with you that attitude is important in life. Life is what you make it, and it has took a few years for me to realize it. I have learned to take one day at a time, and to look for the good things. I have learned to be thankful for another day. Happy posting.

I like someone that has a good personality.... They do not always have to agree with me either.... That gives room for opinion and negotiation..... I like someone that can carry on a intellectual conversation if needed, laugh when something is funny, and someone that does not act like they are to good

i strongly agree because one`s attitude has a lot to do with how they reflect on life and how they carry out their day to day activities. life will always be life but it is the individual`s attitude and reaction to it will determine the next step.i strongly advise that persons should try their best as possible to try and make the right decisions so that they are not haunted by their past in years to come. Do you think this is true?

Hi, it's nice to be contributing to one of your discussions once again! This is something I really agree with! Attitude is very important! I have learned that it's far better to live with an "Attitude of gratitude!" and this definitely contributes to one's happiness deep inside. Once upon a time, a few years in the past actually, I used to indulge in negative thinking and I would moan and groan about absolutely everything. That's changed now and I'm grateful for the way things are in my life, I give thanks everyday. There are days that I still find difficult from time to time but my attitude has improved a lot now! Yes, I don't think we can change others, only ourselves and this is all we need to do I think! Nice chatting with you again. Andrew

Attitude is the ket to the society. when a college boy inters the society, what helps him the most is not the knowledge, but attitude. I have seen so many samples those who doesn't have attitude get kicked even if he has a high degree.Reaction is very important, you do it right and everything is right, you do it wrong and everything is wrong

Attitude is very vital to all of us but it should be the good attitude because if you have that then everything follows and no one would tell you to change your behavior because you might offend other people. If we do have a good attitude then it means we care about the people around us and all the living things like plants, animals and a lot more even those small things we tend to appreciate in such a nice way so attitude is really important without this then everything is us is just futile and colorless.

Totally agreed, you can't ignore the importance of attitude in our life, it plays a big role in our whole life, you are right we can't change our past and some certain facts, so why do we not change to angle to look those facts and our past. it's all about attitude that one person says that "Glass is half filled" and the other says "The Glass is half empty". so one is with positive thinking and one with negative and both can claim that they are right.

Just like you I believe that attitude is very important. I always tell that to my staff. I always tell them that I prefer someone who is not excellent but can be trained, willing to be trained and has a good attitude towards work rather than someone who has the skill but has a bad attitude towards work.

I agree. Ultimately we are the ones responsible for our choices. It's not fate, or just God's will. It's us reacting to the our new experiences. So I think it's important that we have the right attitude. This doesn't mean that we have to be blindly positive about a situation.

Attitude is a vital ingredient in our day to day encounter with people. Sometimes the attitude that we show could have a lasting impression to other people, this could "make us" or "break us". When HR managers screen for applicants, they do not just look at your resume but also your attitude with regards to certain work situations that is evident in the workplace. A good attitude oftentimes is equated with positive feedback or responses. It pays to have an positive attitude because it could pave the way to better things, better relationships and happier life.

How important is attitude? Well it's a lot more important than looks! Though for most people would say looks would matter too, but then you'd rather look the deeper personality of a person rather what he/she has on the outer. If you are mature enough, you would know how to weigh things here.. Especially if you are planning to get committed and to get married soon. You wouldn't want to stick with someone who, well have all the looks but then his personality is just as the opposite of what he is physically right? It's going to work. I'd rather have someone who is really nice and mature with average looks rather with someone who is too hot and with a bird brain and TazManian attitude..

Attitude reflects the character of a person you are. It reflects the type of person you are and how you deal with every little thing in your life. It generally will tell a person on what kind of a person you are and will definitely not fail to show people the true you inside.

Attitude is everything. We can always choose two ways around, the positive and the negative. If one choices to have a positive attitude towards life, then one is definitely have a bright future. A future that full of happiness and joy. And its the opposite one for the negative thinkers. Even in difficult situations, one can always choice the positive attitude in order to make things more clearer. Each positive thinking will surely resulted to a positive things in our lives.

To some degree i do agree with you,but do you know what? You're right,we cannot change the past but with the proper attitude we can change our circumstances. Our attitude towards life determing our circumstances. Nobody puts us where we are, we create that ourself. Yes you're right giving thanks for each day with gratitude,is deffinitely a good thing. The key to a successful life depends on our attitude.

Hi rastosh, Thank you for responding and I think that we agree because I now that we create the things that happen to us. In saying that we may not be able to change our circumstances, I was thinking of perhaps someone who had been involved in an accident and had been paralyzed for the past twenty years. Blessings.
