I'm planning to go on a vacation this year and getting there takes a lot of flying. So I was wondering, what experience do you have with airlines? I have flown with Delta airlines, American airlines, Adria airways and a few more that I can't remember. Since this trip is going to be from Europe to US, I would like to know which airlines you recommend and which ones you don't. I'm interested in their punctuality, food on board, pillows..everything you need to know when you're booking a long flight. So far, my favorite airline is/was American airlines, because their blankets were really warm and soft :D .

My favorite airline is Southwest! Mainly because they don't charge fees to check your first two bags! The last time I flew was on an airline that did charge a fee to check baggage. So of course to avoid the fee, almost everyone on the flight tried to cram as much into their carry-ons as possible! The flight ended up being very delayed just because it took everyone so long to cram their oversized carry-ons into the overhead compartments! That doesn't happen as often when you can check bags for free! Plus Southwest doesn't have assigned seats which is pretty neat! You walk in and can sit wherever you want! Plus they have amazing customer service! Another airline I enjoy flying with is Continental. I believe they're one of the only airlines left that serves full meals onboard... even for just a flight that's a couple hours long! However, I don't fly with them often because their prices are usually much higher than other airlines. But I've always had great experiences when I do fly with them! I've recently flown with Delta... and really my only complaint about them is that their headquarters is in Atlanta... which means I always end up getting a connecting flight in ATL when I fly Delta... which is the busiest airport in the country! And of course the plane I'm trying to catch is on the opposite side of the airport... I've come so close to missing flights before! I try to avoid ATL as much as I can! I've also recently flown with US Airways. My only complaint with them is that they don't serve free snacks on flights! Usually when I fly I get a little bag of chips or pretzels or peanuts or cookies or something. But US Airways doesn't give out snacks. At least I didn't get any on any of the 4 US Airways flights I was recently on! They do still give you free sodas and juice though.

I like Finnair. They are very professional and everything is classy. But other than that, I usually go for the cheapest airline I can find, haha!

My favorite airlines that I have been on so far in my liftime are Qantas, Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic. I liked the service, comfort and high standards on these airlines. I found cabin crew helpful on Qantas. Air New Zealand is excellent in every way. It goes to some lovely destinations in the South Pacific on its way to and from New Zealand. I loved going to Cape Town on Virgin Atlantic last year. They kept my toddler son happy for the 12 hour flight.

I used to take KLM, Lufthansa, and Air France. I like their services very much, at the terminals as well as on board. Yes, the flights are pretty punctual too. And, the air-fares are reasonable, which is important for me.

Too bad your trip is not somewhere in Asia. My favorite is Singapore Airlines for their service. I went to Malaysia via Singapore a few years back, and I was so impressed with their service. They even bow and knee along the aisle to serve you. In north America, I like flying Air Canada. I like the entertainment options that comes in every seat. You do have to pay for the earpiece. But once you have one, you can re-use and re-use it on succeeding flights.

I have had good flights on All Nippon Air and Air New Zealand, and have heard good things about Korean Air. I recently had a TERRIBLE experience on Delta.

My favorite airline is Contintenal. I have traveled them the most and have never had a problem with them. I know they have been in the news alot in the past year but thankfully I have had great smooth trips. In fact one trip that I scheduled I found myself bumped up to first class. I was so shocked but also so happy since it was a direct flight from New Jersey to New Mexico.
