Hi friends, In current trend I know that many of the wives have started preparing only chapathi's for dinner.Due to diet constraint now most of the people are preferring only chapathi's at least once a day.So the wives are thinking a lot to make different side dishes to avoid getting bored of the chapathi's. So now lets find what all you do to make your dinner interesting and lovable? What's secial with chapathi's at your home? In my home I try new side dishes everyday without repeating dishes. I also keep an salad in addition to it.

Chapathi's are not a usual part of our meals because it is not part of the cuisine where I come from but I do like chapathi's and I like them with Chicken Korma or Lamb Curry when i do have them.

You are right. It goes great with chicken kurma. Even we like it. If not chapathi's what do you have for dinner?

It varies generally from day to day but generally rice is a big part of what we eat with different types of stews (sauces) such as chicken cooked with spices and tomato. This would be made by first cooking the onions and spices in oil that adding the tomato and cooking till the tomato cooked and thickens. We could either cook the chicken before adding to the sauce or cook the chicken seperately and add it later. Sometimes we make add the rice to this sauce and cook it in the sauce so the rice becomes orange in colour and it eaten with meat, chicken or fish. Other times we have soup with side dishes - my favourite is peanut soup. Then other times we cook beans with oions and spices and serve with rice - mainly black eyed beans.

Hi visalusha! My mom makes amazing sides with chapatis/rotis. Today, I had rotis for breakfast lunch and dinner! (trying to keep fit) Breakfast : Roti with egg burji Lunch (in college cafeteria) : Chapati with chana masala Dinner : Dry roti with mushroom curry. The same curry tasted good with rice as well. I feel so well fed and happy.

hi vishalusha, daily i wont eat chapathi in house(we eat rice in house daily). but my husband takes chapathi to his office.so daily in morning i will make 2 chapathi's in house. i also very fond to prepare new dishes in house for him and in his chapathi's .mostly he prefers to take chapathi rolls. so i make dry veg curries when i make chapathi's.and roll in chapathi and half cover with silver foil. for chapathi rolls,i make any dry curries like bhendi fry, bringal fry, paneer burji, tinda fry, aloo fry, beans fry etc or i also make capsicum fry curry, mushrooms curry, chick pea curry, califlower curry, green peas curry with tamoto or i will make any mixed vegetable curry . i wont make any kurma recipes or stew recipes or dal recipes ,as they will be in too gravy and unable to put in chapathi rolls. if we are in house we eat anything with chapathi.depending on my mood i make any new recipe ,seeing recipe in net.

I prefer chapatis with all Indian food i make.I think Korma goes well with naan . I make stuffed parhatas too.Gobi ka parhata ,aloo ka parhata ,bajre ki roti ,bathwe ki roti are soo delicious.Simple parhata made by adding milk ,eggs ,desi ghee and sugar also goes well with gravy items.I make curries ,dals ,chicken curries ,lamb curries and serve them with hot phulkas. I experement a lot to make my dinner diffrent and lovable by making desserts and sweet dish too .Gajar ka halwa ,fruit cream ,custard ,kheer are regulars at my home.
