Do you cheat on exams?

I admit that I'm not the brightest of students. Back in high school, although our clique was a rowdy crowd, we always find a way to pass our exams. We have this thing going on. A delegation of tasks. Anyone must be good at something that was our motto. So we'd assign people to "subjects". My subject was history. Every time we had a test in History my answers got passed around (oblivious teacher? I think not). That's what we did in other subjects so we managed to pass all of our subjects. Entrance tests to college was a different thing though. My point? Did you ever cheat for an exam and not feel guilty about it? Because we had fun. At it's one of those high school moments that I miss.

I cheated exams when i am in schooling. In my school days i played a lot and didn't concentrated on studies. Some times i cheated in final exams too. I am very much guilty of it. But it is more enjoyable. But after entering into college, i realized my fault and concentrated on studies on my foot. Then i enjoyed learning, studying and writing. I am very much improved now. But in engineering, we had so many stupid subjects. When i hate a subject, i read only few. But it is interesting i read lot but not cheated in engineering till now. Hope i do same in future.

Yeah, things do get more serious when you go to college. In high school you're just having fun. I don't know about other people but I only got serious during the last year of high school because I wanted to be able to go to a nice college. I worked hard so that I could meet the grades to be able to take entrance exams for top colleges. I even had some scholarship offers after that. One thing though, I never cheated to compete with others. It was just a fun thing to do when I was so young.

as far as I remember, I never cheat the exam when I was in school. Eventhough I couldn't do the test. To prevent cheating I only bring pen, pencil and eraser when the exam running.

Sometimes, i did cheat the exam except my favourite subjects.Anyway, cheating on exams does mean nothing. If you can get things done & do not hurt anybody else, that's okay. When we go into society, you will find out it's the same way the world works on. You find out the problem, you work it out. You're winner. That's it.

To be really "honest", I would have to admit that I did cheat during exams in school before....but only a few times of course! Besides, I remember we used to call people who didn't cheat in exams as "nerdy"! It was a lot of fun trying to cheat; the mix of excitement of getting the answer in your hands and the fear of getting seen or caught is just intense. But I only cheated in exams that didn't really contribute to our final grade, like additional languages and arts (the theory part of course - we can't cheat in practicals ). So at least that makes me feel a little less guilty.....

Haha, I guess most people would cheat if they can know for sure that they won't be caught! Anyway, I used to be quite good at maths in school, so I didn't have to cheat in that subject.....

If I could cheat in all subjects I would. But I was bad at copying during math exams because I got all the numbers wrong:)For that, I have to secretly study (lest I get heckled by my friends) and miracle of miracles I passed.

I understand. honestly, I feel proud of it hehehe but it doesn't mean that it's the right thing. It's the thing that I am not supposed to do and I won't do it again. It's become my pricipal already for not doing cheating.

Invincible. That's what I felt, too. As though I will be always in control. I felt like a train chugging on my own rails and I could change its course anytime I want. I'm not saying that it wasn't wrong. I'm just remembering how it felt that time.

Thanks for starting the discussion. It really gives me a chance to revive the memories of my school days. As far as I remember I never cheated in an exam. To be frank I never dared doing so. But I used to help one of my friends who was very weak in mathes to cheat from my answer paper. He used to sit just behind me. I used to keep my answer paper widely open so that he could easily see and copy. Thus I helped him from class V to X. He later joined state police and narrates the story whenever he gets a chance among our friends.

If only our schools can afford to really focus on students and help them really learn. I think most of the students that resort to cheating in order to pass are really crying for help. Not really being rebellious or anything. It just means that their needs as a student are not being met so instead of being left behind they choose to toughen up and beat the system anyway they can. And sometimes we unknowingly empathize with these people that's why we help them. In our country, it's tough to be part of the public education system. The focus is on the "brightest" students so a few care about those regular students who can't excel academically. Good thing tough, they are starting to recognize that some people are more inclined to the arts. That's why some public schools have science oriented sections and some arts oriented section. I just hope the dedication of the educators extend to those who are in need of most of their help, the ones in the regular sections. But the educators' plight will be a very long commentary again so I'm stopping myself right now.

I think most of cheating happens during high school. It's because you have to memorize a lot of thing s to pass a subject. My teacher in History even asked us to summarize the textbook we were using as reference. She would check every quarter so we were really forced to copy without understanding anything.

Hi there abitcurious! All students i think have all pass that stage, cheating, because that's the only way we think that we can pass our exams especially if it's a hard subjects for us to understand or its just that for the simple reason we didn't study. Its fun ... because just as how much we will be vigilant to be caught ... it is just as much as our teachers been looking to catch someone cheating with her subject.

2/3 of the fun is really the thought of getting away with it. And sometimes knowing that your teacher knows but does not care anymore. How grueling it must have been for our dear (oh admit it, we're of them now)teachers. Day in and day out we got away with it because they did not want half the student body kicked out:)

Lol. are you sure you're not my classmate in highschool? hehehehe. We did what you did, and it was so much fun! LOL. Our motto was, Unity is the best policy. LOL. There was no selfish person in our class, everybody would share answers and pass them along to those who need it. Hehehe. Our teachers often catches us, but they don't really do anything, because we are the top class and well, I guess we can do what we want. When I went to college though, I stopped cheating and I worked hard during exams..

We're way too far away from each other. Or maybe you knew someone that I knew and passed that trick to us? Anyway we would surely be friends if we have the same tricks up our sleeves. Just don't tell anyone else and maybe we'll get arrested for corrupting gullible minds.

I have never cheated on an exam. As an education major I feel that cheating is wrong and dishonest. Not only are you cheating yourself, but you are not being fair to your classmates who have spent many hours studying and working hard to get good grades. What did you do in college, the same thing you did in high school. You can not honestly say that you learned anything when you really did not.

I'm not really making excuses. That's why I admitted I cheated in the first place:) I was only reminiscing the fun we had doing it in high school, but if that wasn't your cup of tea, that would be alright with me. Perhaps you'd rather share what you had fun with? Please do. I'm sure everyone had their own kind of fun back then.

As far as I am concenred, I have cheated in the exam when I was so young. I can still remember it clearly that when I was so young, in order to pass the exam smoothly , I just see some words on my friend's paper to make sure my answer is correct. After that time, I have never cheated in the exam.

I tried copying from seatmate once she was not cool with it. I thought she would call tour teacher, but she didn't, she just gave me this long strange stare. I only copied from people who wouldn't mind me sharing their answers after that.

Yes... i did it in high school. I always used non-verbal communication ( meant some body language especially in multiple choice question). Really funny on that moment because once of my friends was wrong presented the sign and made him fail on that subject.Otherwise, i would write down my answer on a sheet of paper and do exchanged with each other at toilet (we have set up a secret place at toilet to keep the the note). I really miss that moment... haha My friends and me never ever feel guilty because 'we are study smart, not study hard".. (+_+)!!!

Nice motto. I'm sure you're very good at reading body language right now since you have started using them in high school. I know that feeling that you'd rather study life itself than be confined in a room pouring over theories with no practice to prove that it works. Pretty frustrating and boring, too.

I ever did that when i was in school and university. When i started to cheat, i always felt guilty for that. But after a few times of cheating, i felt it something fun for me. Hmm.. I know that cheating in exam is wrong, but sometimes i felt very lazy to study, especially if the teacher want an answer based on the text book. I really hate to study by memorize all the things in book. My brain always got burned when i study like that. So when i hate the subject, i never study for the exam, i use my time to write some essential things for the exam :D

i try my utmost best to not cheat on exams because i know i would feel guilty afterward.i know a lot of friends who do it and sometimes i wonder to myself if they do not feel guilty afterward. most times they know that others are aware of the fact that they have cheated but they just give this no care attitude. if persons continue to cheat on exams how do you think this will affect the society?

I know corruption starts at the roots. But it was something that everyone did at that time. I'm not saying I had no control or that I forgot my morals, though. Cheating was a phase for me. Not a means to an end.

To be honest, i seldom cheat in the examination. However, sometimes i cheat just to help my friends pass the exam. You know, if your friend just sitting behind you asks you the answer, you can't escape from it. The reason why i seldom cheat is i believe god is watching you. If you cheat once, you will cheat another one, and nothing you will get.

I never cheated becaue I alwyas wanted to see how I would make it on my own steam .I failed a few exams but I always studied and tried to do the best I could and I have no regerets about not cheating, the thought just never entered my mind. The thing is too that I would feel really bad and would be so nervous I would probably end up getting caught anyway ,all figetty and sweating so I took the easier route ,to study and study hard lol.i think I can see hwo cheating teh way you described it could be fun though

hahaha i also miss those days that we cheated to pass for the exams! i am afraid to cheat so what my friend did was, he write his answers in big letters. so i'm always behind him and then i shared it to my seatmates.. but have you experienced that, you know all the answers and you shared it to your seatmate, then when the time that you don't know the answer, and asking him to share his answer, but his not sharing his answer to you?? i hate that! it's unfair!

I actually knew a few of them. I just gave them smoldering looks (the type that says "you're in trouble", not the one that says "come over here"). Then we'd be friends after I day or two. It's just the way high school is.

No I would never cheat on tests, but people cheat off of my test, but I don't mind it. One day they will notice that their is no one to cheat off of and thats when they are going to fail. I always study if I have an exam that will come up because I want to do good. So my parents will be proud of me and will reward me for my good grades still good grades is always reward enough for me. Remember cheating is never good it does not get you anywhere because then you will never learn like that. It is always best to try and fail then to cheat. That's how I see it anyway.

Yes, i already cheated in school, it was simply little exams, nothing big, it was "fun" with the excitement and stress "Will I get caught?" but i never got caught, i'm an "intelligent" cheater lol, i mean that normally people write answers somewhere but when i cheat, i write answers in form of codes and with my own language that i created so even if i get caught, nobody will understand what i wrote...
