If you have a computer with Windows OS, you will be often have attacking viruses. Viruses can be from friend's data storage, internet files, also from the storage digital camera. If you have a computer with Linux OS, you never have attacking viruses. I have a Linux OS and also Windows OS on my computer. So, my computer have a hybrid OS. I usually working on Windows OS only for programming, I use Linux for everything. I have open office with similar to microsoft office. And many thing I do with Linux OS. How about you ? Do you have experience with Linux OS ?

I use both Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu 9.10 for my PC and it is secure! For the virus problem, I have a really handy partner with me! It is nothing other than ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus Business edition! It is very good! My Linux experience has been fabulous and I think you should use Linux too!

i am using windows os i.e. windows xp. i like this os as it is very user friendly. i know windows is having a problem of virus. n linux users dont have to worry about the virus. but u can use a good antivirus to prevent from virus. it can be a good solution. and i think windows is most user friendly than linux.

It's a good thing that your college use linux on all systems. You may use sometimes this linux on your college systems. You can explore the linux, and make you adapt with this linux. In the past, I do the same act, I am explore my college system to recognize linux before I change to linux OS.

No one OS is completely safe from virouses and you have to be careful. Windows is simply the most easy to attack. I use windows because its more designed for the blind, whereas lunx and other platforms are not. I've got JAWS as my screan reader and its a windows-based product. I need it otherwise I would not be able to fuction on the computer. So its windows all the way for me.

I am using ubuntu and windows in my laptop. It doesn't mean that if you use windows you will be attacked by virus. If you have a decent and updated antivirus and you are careful enough to prevent attacks, you won't have any problems with it.

I use Linux as often as possible. I use it to diagnose windows problems, and to even fix registry problems and boot sectors. I've got a Live CD that will fix any kind of NTFS errors, and SAM errors. It took a lot of research and studying but now I can use either Linux or Windows commnad line with the greatest of ease. Many times I prefer Linux over windows, but there are a few programs that will only run on windows. For instance I have a phone program with Vonage that will not work on Linux. Since I use this as my home phone, it is not easy for me to use Linux in my day to day use.

I used windows xp till now. I didn't used other windows OS too. Windows is more user friendly and we can find lot of softwares in the internet for it. But for linux we can't find good softwares. But viruses are huge problem for windows. Because most of the virus makers target only windows users. So linux is better in this area. Although open office is good, but is not flexible like microsoft office. In microsoft word, we can check grammar and has lot of options. But in open office there is no option to check grammar and there should be lot of improve in it.

At my home i use windows operating system. Windows OS is user friendly, but it is not free, we have to purchase it. But Linux OS is complicated when compared to Windows OS, we can get Linux OS for free. But you cannot get the virus in Linux OS, but you can get the virus in Windows OS. When you use Windows OS, you should make your computer secure, so you have to use antivirus software to secure your computer.
