My hard disk is 160GB. I buyed it before 3 years. But now cost for every peripheral is drastically reduced. Good companies for hard disk is SEAGATE. At that time my hard disk costs Rs. 3200. Now we can obtain 320GB hard disk at around 2500 to 3000. You better to buy hard disk more than 250 GB. Now tera byte hard disk is around Rs. 5000

My harddisk is about 300GB. I think 250GB harddisk should be quite cheap these days. You could get one for less than one hundred dollars.

Before you purchase a new hard drive for your computer I recommend you check out the following website www.ebuyer.com They are pretty good and relatively cheap. You can check out other purchaser's reviews before you make a purchase, I think this is a good course of action before buying anything. I think that Seagate are one of the manufacturers at the top of the list when it comes to hard drives. Definitely shop around to see if you can pick up any good deals. Good luck. Andrew

My hard disk is 180gigs but i suggest you buy a usb. Works same as hard disc but is also easily transportable. I have wd for 1terabyte(1000g) and it would be arround 100$ and you're good for a few years if you don't have much stuff. Off course you can look for smaller capacity but the difference in price for 250 or 1tb is very small.

I have 250gb on my laptop. It's still not enough so I bought an external hdd of 250 for my work stuff which I bring to the offcice and another 1TB for my downloaded movies and ISOs. External HDDs are cheap here. A 250gb drive costs around AED 250.

Dude, I have a 2 TB hard disk space that is made up by two 1 TB hard disks! I bought each of them for 5999 Rupees near my locality! So totally 12000 Rupees for my hard disk, cheap in the long run!

My laptop has 160GB hdd. But my PC has 2 250GB SATA II HDD. I bought both of my 250GB HDD 2 years ago for US$60 each if I'm not mistaken. Now, I think you can have it for around US$40 - 50. There are plenty of options now for hdd company. In my opinion, Maxtor is fast but very sensitive. For hdd, I choose seagate, although not as fast as Maxtor but not as vulnerable as Maxtor. But everything's back to your budget and liking. Have a nice day :)

My hard disk is low to just 80 GB, even so do not need the capacity of large hard disk to my computer. But I want to buy a notebook that has a capacity of 250 GB hard drive, because i often travel and save a lot of data there :)

I have 500 GB filled with downloads and what nots. I think anything from Western Digital or Seagate will be a reliable one. I just don't know how much this would cost in your country. But you can canvass for that when you're shopping. The price for the hard disk of a laptop is different from the ones used in desktop computers. You should also check if the one you're replacing is IDE or SATA, if you're replacing it you have to buy the same thing. Unless you just want to add disk space you can buy a portable one.
