Public transportatin can be made better or not?

Alot of us here must be using the public transportation system provided by the govt.I am sure very one has 1 mode that he/she uses on a daily basis. So do you think the current mode that you are using be it local bus or train or for that matter metro...is it good enough or do you think somethings can be done to make it better.
Lets share this here and that it will be viewed by people who are actually responsible for it.

Hey Amit,
I don't really travel a lot by the public transport, I'd say never. Its rarely when we're going on trekking or camping in the woods and the buses are crazy.
Not a seat that was not squeaking! When i got out, I had a sprained neck and the whole trek was destroyed.
I think they should look after proper maintenance of the buses.

Thank you for your response Fiazo!! Just a suggestion when you go for treks try and take the jeeps or something, generally when ever some one goes for a trek its in a group so its better to hire a Jeep...Thats what I used t do when I used to go for trek in the Himalayas.

If we want best public transport..firstly we all try to use public transport mostely ....
for going office we are try to use public transport for that we r try to help

In my home country public transport is pricey. I can get a day's bus pass that will take me to my nearest city or elsewhere in the county for £6.90 off peak. Buses are slow and go on routes around lots of housing estates. The buses are sp slow and don't go all that far. Therefore changes of bus are necessary. I need three different buses to go to Glastonbury for the day. I live on the edge of a coastal town and the bus fare into town is £1.65 single for a adult. The child fare is a high proportion of that.
The train service in my local area can be extremely poor. I got on a train that didn't go to the destination it was meant to. It only did about half of its route. Trains don't stop for long at my local train station. Sometimes if a train is late it will refuse to stop at the smaller train stations. I travel with my disabled toddler son and my baby daughter in a double buggy. Whether I go by bus or train it is challenging to do.
Public transport needs to be improved and made cheaper.

Yes,That is true after all whats the purpose o having public transport if its not cheap.To add to that you mentioned that the trains don't stop at the smaller stations that's really not the way it is supposed to be.
I think there should be some one who should bring this to in the notice of the concerned person.
Don't you have a particular website where in you can go and the govt. officials and take some action on this?

public transport is the most widely used transport from samll richshaw puller to local trains usually carry lots of migrants here and there.
metro has also started running all over NCR......
they need to be managed,organized in systematic way

There are millions of people in India who use public transport on a daily basis for work,school,college etc., Te government must provide better facilities for the public.The population in city of chicago,USA is equivalent to the number of people who commute by local train everyday in Mumbai city,India.

public transport is more expensive if you have to travel a long way and have change buses take rickshaws.. Bike will be the less expensive if it gives good average..

I think everyone must try and use more public transport as much as possible and avoid using private transport as it will reduce pollution problem and will help in reducing the issues of global warming. As it will also help in conserving non renewable sources of energy as petrol and diesel. Government must take steps to improve public transport services and help and encourage the public at mass to use more of such public transport as buses and metro,s. The introduction of New volvo buses has helped this issue to some extent and will help more in the future.

public transport is the system provided by the Goverenment and its moral duty to make it better,its different that what mode of transport an individual is using...bt,till on a wider penumbra every body duty to make transport at the apex.

Using public transportation is not good enough....it can be better managed...and Govt cant do this alone...they need our support as well for that...so it should be joint coopartaion to improve this...

Almost i travel bus,truks jeeps etc vehicles because i visit my relation where available only public trasport.if you are make best trasport so you will more use public transport.

yes i am using public transport for sure..yes they must or should be made better ..i travel daily on buses and i found broken mirrors,broken iron sticks..the conditions of public transport is very bad..i request the government to made them better

Amit yes you are right that government provided us public transportation in the name of Buses ,Trains,Metros but in last two years they are became to much expensive for the middle class families everybody is happy to drive in there own vehicles instead of traveling in government vehicle unfortunately Iam one of them.The government should strictly take some steps on this.
