Do you use an antivirus program on your mac?

Apple always said that you can't get a virus on your mac because they are not built that way. But lately they have been recommending to install an antivirus program so the mac is safe. What do you think? Have you ever heard about anyone having a virus on a mac? Which antivirus program do you use?
I don't use one because they were so annoying on windows. I just don't download suspicious things from the internet.

I wish you could use the trend micro online virus scan like windows users. I don't have any protection, and don't clean the computer out as often as should, and don't have any viruses that I'm aware of. Actually, I believe a Mac can download a virus, but it can't do anything because it's just coded? different. But you can pass stuff on to windows users.
But being as more people are using Macs these days, ther probably will be a risk at infection. I would like to get the computer protected soon.

I do not have a mac but I do use a antivirus program on my laptop.
