Jamming signal could prevent the transmission of date in election day

There seems a new tactic that could delay the transmission of data from the precincts to comelec. That is bringing in the precincts jamming devices to block the machines from sending data wirelessly. Well I think those scrupulous politicians are now preparing and found a way to make the election less credible and delay the counting. So it seems that the automated election has some weak points too. I was thinking that hacking was the only weak point in that but, jamming the signals could also prevent the data from being sent out to the main machine.

Well, at least they now know what to fix before the election comes... and when they have another testing thingy... hopefully the problem would be solved... and no other serious ones would occur... i am quite excited about this automated elections... since we will all be a part of history... but this would certainly change the course of our country's future...

Yes I am also looking forward seeing this automated election go. I think we have had a lot of bad experience with manual counting already and there seems to have many loopholes no matter how many documents are prepared by the teachers and the comelec people there seems to have loopholes that create a questionable election. With the automated election the process seemed to be shortened and delivery of data is supposed to be fast. With the jamming device this could slow them down or even fail to submit the data at all. This could be a major problem if that would be the case. But I am hoping that they can make a solution to these as media and comelec exposed their concern over this.

That's true.. there's a weakness in the sending of the signal but I'm sure they have a Plan B in case that happens. I'd like to believe that this election is pushing through no matter what, and that there won't be big issues during and after the elections..

I guess they should prepare for a plan B. I heard that there is an anti jamming device too so they should get one to counter this threat. What is threatening is that the jamming devices can easily be bought in Sta. Cruz Manila which I think should be banned because of its threat to delaying or stopping the transmission.

hey! yeah i watched this on TV. this is really scary especially that this is the first time that our elections will be automated. sigh, it has not even tested yet and now there are parties that want to sabotage the system. really, the NTC, NBI, and police should raid all stores and look for illegal retailers of the jamming devices and persecute them to the fullest extent of the law. take care and keep on posting here! :D you are doing a good job here man! :D

Your right about that one. We haven't experienced it and there are those that want it discredited. I guess Filipinos are just ingenious when they tackle this issue.

salonga is right, it's a miracle if the elections will be a clean one. i also believe that we all pray that the elections will push through, may it be computerized or manual. and that after the elections, the better man will be one declared as winner, for the betterment of the Philippines.

Hello Rsa, Typical Filipino Attitude; Delay, delay and more delays. they should have hasten the process and the bidding in the first place, and now we have this trouble that would be more of a threat than the usual manual count. At least the evidence is tangible because it's there if in case it's tampered with. but this time were dealing with a cheat on a NEW level. We, Filipinos are so damn smart, most specially in CHEATING and other negative activities. i knew something bad might happen. I mean, WOW jammning signals, when is it going to end

Yeah you right about that. I was frustrated to know that these scrupulous politicians have already known how to counter the technology. From the latest news I hear is that you can easily get those gadgets in Sta Cruz, Manila. I guess you are right about Filipinos being able to be creative enough but in anegative way. If we can just focus that creative juices to positive ways I think we can really be a good and prosperous country.

The EC is not fool there are tracer vans moving all around during election time and they can easily trace out the source of the jammer. So be rest assure people are out there , they can handle such situations.

I hope they can do that during the election time. As far as I know there is no provision in the budget for such equipment. I hope Comelec would do its job implementing that one nationwide. It would be very difficult for all of them roaming around the polling places and looking for this jamming devices.

Hi rsa! Well if this election would be very very clean then that is a miracle! Even with the automated election, those in power will surely look for ways and means to cheat. But their sin will find them out sooner or later anyway. I hope those people who are by now trying to find a way to cheat will be apprehended. Let's pray for a clean election and most of all let's pray that the best man be elected. May God bless this election!

That is really sad. Although I was not expecting that this soon these people are preparing for it. I think that they are way ahead of what Comelec is doing because as of this time there are a lot of delays in many of the implementation of what is supposed to be done. I hope that despite this things the real winner will emerge from this crisis.
