Have You Ever Been In A Bolshi Mood?

I think I've spelled "bolshi" right and I've no idea what it means, other than that it's an alternative to "awkward" or "speaking my mind" something like that. It happened twice when I was out shopping yesterday! The first "bolshi" experience was in my local bank. For once, I was actually drawing money OUT as opposed to putting money IN. The grand total of £5 as I did not have enough in my account to draw £10 from the ATM. Anyway, a lady saw to me at the counter and I tapped out my PIN number so she could access my account. Then she came out with the immortal words, "Is there anything else?" "Nope!" "I've noticed that you are due for your FINANCIAL REVIEW, you are supposed to have one every 6 months. Are you with this branch or visiting?" I told her it was my main branch and I live here, blah-de-blah. This small talk went on for ages and then I (sort of) snapped and said, "It's no good me having a FINANCIAL REVIEW because I haven't any money to review! It would be a total waste of time!" To which she replied, "Take your card out of the device..Good day to you!" DOH!The second incident was in my beloved Poundland shop. This place saves me...er pounds. It's great! I bought a few batteries for my keyboard and mouse, plus some toothpaste and at the checkout this very young guy said, "Can I not interest you in some Cadbury's Dairy Milk today? It's only a pound for a large bar!" I looked at him, fiddled with my change, and (in front of a load of shoppers) said, "No, I do NOT wish to buy ANYTHING from Cadbury as they have been taken over by Kraft and I am now boycotting them!" I should've said that more people should do the same but my face was burning up and I was becoming hot with my hat on, so got out of the shop quick.I felt faint in Tesco Express after that. I went all dizzy buying some toilet rolls. Just as well I didn't have any more shopping to do. Have you had any similar experiences to mine when you just wanted to shut someone up rather than smile and go along with what they are saying?

Hello Janey, I too had to laugh reading your post lol. Dont feel bad, its best to let it all out than to keep it all bottled up inside. I have a nasty mouth about me and a bad temper to boot. So Ive done this over and over and every time I tell myself I shouldnt but cant help it. Ive been put in jail for 10 minutes when I was young. I guess the cop didnt appreciate my talking back but I didnt care. Finally my mom came over with the money to bail me out. They put me in a jail only to get even with me. I hadnt done anything criminal. There was a mistake on a ticket I didnt have to ay and the paperwork didnt reach the right office. So thats why I was in such a bad mood and took the cop who stopped me for a ride.......I got to the police station before he did and I was supposed to follow him LOL....oh that was fun. I hang up on tlemarketers, I dont answer the door when I know they're salesmen, I dont let sales people at stores tell me b/s. I tell it like it is and if people dont like it.....thats when I lose my temper lol.

It's better than bottling it all up which is what my hubby tends to do. He hates complaining, for example. I just come straight out with it lol.

Sorry but the episode in Poundland really made me laugh, purely because I have had the same sort of experience at WH Smith. There was a period whenever I went in there to buy a DVD the person at the counter would do their job and try to talk me into buying what ever confectonary they were pushing on the counter. It got to the point that I had had enough and after the umpteenth attempt I turned around and said "Look I can see the chocolate on the counter, I can see that it is on offer and I can appreciate that you are just doing your job. But if I was interested in buying some I would have picked it up and said 'one of these as well'". Since then I think I must be on a naughty boy list because no one tries to sell anything extra to me in there. Sometimes you just have to let rip, it's good for you.

Haha! It certainly made me feel better lol. BHS had a spell of annoying me as well. When they could see I was buying something with good, hard, cold cash and they'd say "Have you got a BHS Card?" "No!" "Would you like a BHS card, you get this lovely fluffy toy for nothing if you sign up today." "NO!!!" Hehe lol.

Sorry to laugh at your expense, but that is hilarious. You put a smile on my face. I am usually pretty easy going and just politely say no thanks to these types of situations and they do not usually push it any further. The other week I had someone approach me with a tiny piece of chicken on a tooth pick outside a store asking me if I wanted to try their new seasoning or whatever it was. I really felt like saying to them that I do not eat meat and do not like the whole meat industry and what they stand for, but I just held my tongue and said politely "No Thanks" and kept walking. It probably would have made their day interesting if I did as I am sure that they were not really that passionate about what they were promoting, they were just doing what they were told as part of their job!

Haha! Wow! You have tremendous willpower my friend. Good for you! I'm glad I made you smile because that's what I'm here for. I never knew I had that talent until I joined MyLot. I'm pleased that I have brightened your day.
