Countdown to Wrestlemania is finally here! Now it's time to start thinking about the matchups, and one of my favorite ones, one that has made it's way into recent WM lore, is the Money in the Bank match (MITB). It's a good match, and we always seem to get the best of the midcard talent involved. That being said, though, here's your chance to play WWE writer. Gimme your 8 participants, and a winner (bonus points for how they win). 1. Kofi Kingston (RAW) - I thought he was going to win last year; I predicted he would get a push, although not the one I expected when they put him up against RAW's top heel, Randy Orton. However, his "high" has cooled down of late, but he's still a good draw and a good guy to have in this match. 2. Ted DiBiase (RAW) - They want to push the kid; you KNOW they want to push him in the WWE. If there's a clean break from Legacy, this would be the best way to go. Some think that it'll be him and Orton at WM26, but if not I hope he gets into this match. It'd go a long way to making him legitimate. 3. Christian (ECW) - I guess I also hope that Christian drops his ECW title before WM26 and joins a main show roster; it'd be nice to see him on Mondays or Fridays again. That being said, this could be the way the WWE pushes him up to the main eventer status (finally), but we'll see. 4. JTG (Smackdown!) - He's clearly the better of the two members of Cryme Tyme, but if you aren't going to push them as a tag team more than being an occasional mark for the crowd, give JTG a mini-push. He doesn't even have to win necessarily, just give him some needed run somewhere. 5. Lance Cade (???) - I know, he's still in FCW, but I did like what I saw from him before he was released. It could be a good way to re-introduce him to the WWE Universe, and push his status either face or heel, give him something to come back in with. 6. The Miz (RAW) - Another guy I am very high on right now, I would have Miz drop the U.S. Title before Wrestlemania and then give his go for the contract in the MITB match. He's quickly becoming a top heel and could go a long way with a good showing in this match, provided he doesn't job out. 7. Yoshi Tatsu (ECW) - He's been one of those guys; it seems like he's on the cusp of getting into regular programming and getting good time. A match like the MITB would be a good way to get him out there to the rest of the WWE universe that doesn't watch on Tuesday nights. 8. - John Morrison (Smackdown!) - What happened to this guy? I personally like him, too, and feel as though he's getting buried. They should be prepping him for the main events of Smackdown. Get him in MITB, quick! and my winner... Christian! Although I think that Kofi and DiBiase would greatly benefit from a win here, too, the fact is the MITB winner has to win the title, it seems. Christian would be the best fit right now to get back into main event status IMO. If not him, I would have Morrison go over in this match. Your thoughts?

To be honest, there is so many fresh talent available in WWE right now that will no doubt grow into top WWE contenders that it is hard to choose just 6, because the whole point of MitB is to offer a push up the card, and there are too many superstars I would love to receive such a push. At the moment, I am really liking The Miz. This guy oozes with charisma and is the perfect cocky heel. I would also like to see Christian win at least one world title before he retires in the future, as the guy deserves it. If I had to choose one MitB winner, I would love Shelton Benjamin to win it. He has been in nearly every MitB and displays such incredible levels of athleticism and showmanship. Unfortunately, his lack of mic skills are, in my opinion, the only thing holding him back from a big championship reign

Couldn't agree with you more about The Miz; I never would have thought he'd be where he is now. Though he was a meek guy, someone who would have fallen by the wayside in the Universe, cause you need to either be compelling as a face, or draw big heat as a heel, and he's getting a lot of heel heat now. I think that Morrison helped him out with establishing him as a heel.

Okay, let me think here. First of all, while Morrison seems like an obvious choice, I think they may do McIntyre/Morrison for the Intercontinental Title. Miz, I think they may stretch his feud with M.V.P out until Mania and have the US Title. Of course, I could be wrong but I have come up with eight competitors. 1)Shelton Benjamin-The most obvious choice, as he's always the highlight of the Money in the Bank matches. Plus, if I am not mistaken, he's been in pretty much every Money in the Bank Match but one. So an obvious pick for the match. 2)Matt Hardy-Has been part of some of the biggest Ladder matches in Wrestlemania history. Is another great fit for the Money in the Bank the match. May not be the winner but he could be counted on to put on a solid performance, being a veteran in the Ladder match. 3) Kofi Kingston- A no brainer for this type of match. Has been on the cusp of the main event scene in past but brought back down. A show stealing performance in Money in the Bank could bring him back in there. 4) Jack Swagger- A guy who has not done much as of late. Still, he could be a solid fit for Money in the Bank. Maybe not the best wrestler for this type of match but a soild person to be in this type of match. 5) Evan Bourne- Someone like Evan Bourne would be perfect for this type of match. Bourne has a great high flying style that is a good fit for Ladder matches. 6)R-Truth- They have been really pushing Truth a bit as of late with the feud with Chris Jericho. So why not? Throw him in this match and really give him a chance to shine. There are worse choices out there. 7) The Big Show- Yeah, I know, the Big Show being in a Ladder Match might not be the best fit. However, there could be a storyline in there. Show could promise to knock out everyone else to the point where the briefcase has to be forfeited to him or something like that. 8) Either Christian or someone new. There is a possibility that Christian will be ECW Champion and the ECW Championship may actually get defended this year at Wrestlemania. However, there is a much stronger possibility that Christian will be in the match, whether or not he has the belt. Perhaps he could use it to a springboard to Smackdown. If Christian has a title defense, then Money in the Bank could be a perfect spot to showcase a new or returning talent. Booker T may be returning shortly, I have heard some rumors. Stick him in Money in the Bank to give some star power. Lance Cade is another possibility. Or maybe someone like Bryan Danielson or Kaval(the former Low-Ki/Senshi of TNA/ROH fame) could be put in this match. Now with those out of the way, the winner I think is a bit tricky. Kofi Kingston would be a good pick but I think there is a strong case to be made for Shelton Benjamin. I really thought that he was going to win last year but Punk pulled it out for the second year in a row. Shelton Benjamin could finally grab the briefcase. I fear though that this might be the year where we have the first Money in the Bank failure, where someone cashes in on the title shot and loses. However, that can be done well, with the challenger giving the champion a competitive fight and just barely losing, to set up another match down the road.

Would personally love to see Danielson and/or Kaval in it; they both lend themselves quite nicely to the dynamic of the match, and I'd just love to see them get a good head of steam coming into Universe. Booker T, if he does come back, would be an interesting case of what you do with a talent like him. At his best, he's a low main eventer IMO. He needs someone big to carry him a little bit; he's not a draw as either a face or a heel. But a match like MITB could help him out, no doubt. It would give the WWE a reason to push him into the status and continue to use him and find a place for him.

There are definetly alot of up and coming youg stars in the WWE and the MITB match is the perfect ways to push some of the talent and get them ready for the main event. I mean it worked for CM Punk. Look how quickly he went from just a ECW champ to MITB winner to a three time heavyweight champ. There are so many more guys who could have the same success as him if WWE just plays the cards right. So here is who I would pick for the match: 1) Ted Dibiase. First off hes the son of the Million Dollar Man. I mean hurry up and push him already. He has skill and he has the background of a champ. He deserves to have a spot in this match instead of just getting pushed around from week to week. I mean when is he going to turn face anyways? 2)Cody Rhodes. Again like Dibiase he has the champion in his blood. While I dont think he is as talented as Dibiase he still has style and needs the push desperately. 3) Christian. I mean come on since his return back to WWE all we have seen his as is ECW champ. Which means he definetly has potential as Heavyweight champ and to be put in matches with the big guys like Cena and HHH. 4) Matt Hardy. I really miss the days of Mattitude honestly. Matt needs to be main event. He has been in the WWE for what 10 years now? He seems to get pushedfarther back and back every year instaed of forward. 5) Evan Bourne. Yes it is time for this high flyer to have his moment. he would shine in this ladder match. With his unique style..even if he didnt win he would sure be a winner in this match. 6)R-Truth. I think instaed of having him have gone directly to the elimination chamber they should have started him in this match instead. I think it would have built up his character better. 7)Shad Gaspard. The face it our tag team friend would be great as singe wrestler. He has the body, the look. He needs to leave the duo(sorry JTG) and be pushed for some single gold. 8)David Hart. Another second generation star. Maybe if they just give him some time on the mic then he would actually improve. He also has a great look for champ and is another guy who needs to leave tag team competitions and start his single career. Now as for a winner I would have to say either Christain...as I would love to seem his vs Edge or Jericho. Or I would pick Dibiase as he I believe has the most star power in this match as a young never before champ. What do you think?

when i look over the current wwe roster there is alot of upcoming superstars all of which are contesting for the spot to gain main event status. my picks for this years money in the bank are:1. John Morrison. Morrison is a guy who has recently been responded to really well by the wwe universe. He is definatley entertaining, and exciting to watch it will be interesting to see ifhe gets a push as a face. 2. Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin has been in afew money in the bank matches and never fails to impress. Probably one of the best raw altletes in the wwe at the moment and his athletism always brings something to the match. I dont think he will win it but he will be in there. 3. Ted diabase. A guy Who is sceduled to be in the elimination chamber before wrestlemania. although i believe he wont win the elimination chamber he will appear in the money in the bank. It is rumoured he will turn face and get a push so this may be where it will happen. 4.The Miz. One of the better raw heals at the moment might get a push soonish altough hes not the most talented he is causing a lot of heat at the moment. 5. Christian. A guy who has recently comeback. i think the mitb will be a great oppurtunity for christian to work his way back to main event staus. A popular and talented wrestler. But i think he will have to drop the title to particpate so im not sure if he will be in there. 6. kofi. Another top superstar at the moment should get a push for a possible title shot. i think he would be one of the better chances to win as he is frequently mainevented the weekly shows. 7. EvanBourne. Heres a guy who is fairly looked over by wwe. Ive put him in here cause i like his style andfeel he could be a popular superstar as time goes on. Although i know he wouldnt win it would be great to see him fit into the match and see what he can bring. 8.R=truth. I will put him in here as he seems lately to be getting a big push on smackdown. Although i do not like him to much and find him a bit bland but wwe have different views. overall i think that christian should win this one. He needs and opprtunity at the title. He is a very marketable superstar with a good persona and wrestling talent. Hopefully we can see him there soon.
