I guess due to your bad experience, and thus the phobia will always be there.. hehe ^_^ So sorry to hear about your miscarriage though, but u just need to move on in life ^_^ Always remember that doctors are our saviours, and they will help us no matter what.. Thus there's no need to have any fear to them.. hehe ^_^ Especially if the doctor is handsome like the one in the 'scandals', i believe one will be more than glad to see him over and over again.. lol =D just kidding!!

HI Acie, Since i was a kid i was already exposed to hospital. almost every month i am confined. i am a sickly kid. when i entered the puberty stage...every time i will have my menstrual period i will be confined. it was only when i got married that i became healthy and no more confinement. it was only when i gave birht that i was hospitalized because both my sons were delivered via CS. so, i am more comfortable in the hospital or dealing with doctors. i am working ina clinic too right now so no fear of medical professionals and the hospital too.

I get nervous whenever I go to doctor even if I have a very minute disease. I won't get nervous about the illness, but be nervous if the doctor will suggest injection. Most of the time, I tell the doctor that I prefer tablets compared to injections. Somtimes, the doctor forced me to have injectons because they have a quicker effect compared to tablets.

I had the same experience as yours Acie. The Nurse was supposed to extract blood from me three times (once every 1 hour). It was for my blood sugar test. I was pregnant during that time. They told me I should not eat anything for @4 hours even drink water. I did that. When I went to the laboratory they told me they are going to extract blood from me three times. Once every hour. So it means I still can't eat and even drink water for four more hours. I got so pissed of with the Nurse on the third blood extraction. I don't know what she did wrong but she cannot extract enough blood from me where she injected the thing. I was bruised because of that and instead of just three blood extractions I ended up having four since she needs to repeat the last one. And then, because she messed up they have to repeat the test. I was asked to go back the next week to have a repeat test. So I have to undergo the same process again. Urrrghhh!

hmmmm, i feel so guilty that i was not able to come with you to the doctor to atleast give you some moral support & ease your anxiety... but anyway, just like you i also feel nervous going to the doctor & i don't really like going there for a check up...coz i am scared of what they are going to say. i am scared to hear that i am sick or what... yeah, waiting for the result of the laboratory is also something that i hate coz i am always thinking what is it...and i never feel comfortable waiting for it...huh!

right! hehe atleast now you already know that you can do it alone! well actually with injections, sometimes i feel scared as well, hehe as you know i hate injections from dentists...haha i don't have much bad experiences with hospitals but i just don't like to be there & the smell. when i was younger, we are almost like a resident of hospitals coz my mom is always confined there...huh! and i saw how she's doing there & i know how difficult it was not only to the patient but to the family as well... luckily, i was never confined yet in the hospital in my whole life, the only time that i was there is when i get a surgery on my knee after i kneel down in a broken bottle/glass when i was still a kid...hehe

Hi Acie! Good day!. I'm not scared to go to a doctor. I'm scheduled to go to my OB today. My problem is I sometimes feel lazy going to my OB for my regular monthly check- up. I was scheduled for my check- up yesterday but I felt lazy again and decided to just sleep the whole day so I called her secretary and moved my appointment today.

I go to my OB every month for a regular check up. It is more of prevention. :)I just want to make sure that I'm still healthy and want to know earlier if there are any issues I need to know. When I was pregnant I have to go to my OB sometimes twice a month. My OB is so strict and was really keeping an eye on my gain weight, BP and blood sugar. She does not want me to have any issues when I give birth. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy last Sept. 22. It was a normal delivery. I visited my OB again last Tuesday. She is giving me pills for family planning. However, she thinks that I might be pregnant again. Haha! I need to go back to her next week for an ultrasound to make sure if I am pregnant again or not so I can continue taking my pills.

Hi sunset, miss u dear. I dont like to visit doctors, not a matter of nervousness but it is a matter of their over expensive process of examination. In case of normal problems, they force to test all health conditions. So i try to avoid them as much as i can. Lol.

hello acie, Long time my friend. Anyway,i felt sorry to know that you had miscarriage. What you are feeling is a part of your trauma experience(miscarriage) You need to overcome that fear. You need to help yourself. Absolutely,no one can help you but you alone. You can seek professional help either,it would be the best solution. I had some trauma also, and,it takes time for me to overcome it. It's not easy,it takes a lot of perseverance, understanding and love from people around us. I hope you can get over to those fear my dear. Have a good day always

I lost a baby in 2008 and had a very bad experience with the Doctor, I did not have anxiety about going to regular Doctors or even a new OB until I got pregnant again. I have severe anxiety every time I have to go to the doctor especially since I am having issues this go round. I push myself to go anyway because I have to for my baby but it is hard. My heart races and my blood pressure goes up. It is to the point that my Doctor (very understanding one much better) takes my pressure let's me hear the baby's heart beat then takes it again. It's amazing how quickly I calm down once I know everything is OK. I then go home and pass out cold as I usually haven't slept for the last few days from nightmares.

I don't always feel nervous when I have to visit the doctor. However, much like with your experience, I do have a lot of apprehension when I visit my OB/GYN. I had a miscarriage in the summer of 2005 and then in early 2006 I got pregnant with my son. It was the hardest thing to go through that pregnancy because everytime that I went to the doctor I was afraid that they would tell me there was something wrong with the baby and I also had many occasions during my pregnancy with him that I was afraid that something had happened to him and I had to make extra trips to the doctor.

People who are afraid going to a doctor, might have some bad impression or experience with a doctor in there child hood. Or maybe, they have some misconception with the doctors or maybe they are afraid about knowing their illnesses, and they are afraid to know about their real condition. In my case, I am not afraid with a doctor and i don't have any phobia with them. In reality I know that the doctor is there to cure me if necessary. Some people are afraid because doctors are always associated with injections and that hurts.

Oh yes I get terrified when i go to the doctor, I really hate them, and the worst thing is that I don't have a good health so I have to go often, but there is other people that they love to go to the doctor, I hate when I get sick then I start thinking ... "Oh god I have to go to the doctor". I think my problem with them is that they are sometimes very insensitive to your pain and other times they are not delicate at all when they have to do some exams or when they have to touch you in private places.

I'm completely afraid of going to the doctor . . . any kind of doctor, including dentists. I'm not afraid of the doctors themselves but more afraid of what they will tell me. I'm not a hypochondriac, I don't think that there is always something wrong with me but I am always afraid that there may be something wrong that I don't know about and I'm not sure I want to know. I'm due for several doctors visits, including a dental cleaning, a visit to a doctor for my back because it's been bothering me, and probably a skin scan. I keep putting these things off and I know I need to suck it up and go. I don't want anyone else to go with me though. I don't like other people seeing me nervous or afraid.

Hi, acie_21. It is very normal to feel nervous when you go to an doctor. I was like this many of times. Especially when I was pregnant with all three of my children. I would be nervous when I would get tests done like testing for Down Syndrome and genetic tests. I know that I was fine, but I was just scared to have to ever find out any bad results. It is perfectly normal to feel afraid. Stay calm, you will be fine because in the end everything will be okay. I can go to the doctor by myself too. I am nervous when I am in the room with him/her too. But, I just take a deep breath, and I will relax because before, I knew it the appointment was over with. I kind of like the fact that the doctor never seems to stay a long time while in the examination room either. That is an ease to your mind.

I'm a fairly tough Lady, but the Doctor and my Dentist can cripple me, just by giving me an appointment, I try to avoid appointments, oftenm cancelling them. Like you I am actually able to increase my heart beat, so it looks as tho I have major hypertension, He takes it again after talking, and it is coming down. But being a hypochrondriac I am always unsure, if it has come down to ita right level. One day I went in and I was preoccupied and he took it before I realised, and it was right. He said a large percentage of pati8ents are like this. But I ws going to be a Doctor, so that makes me a right Jimmy.

That's very honest to admit to that fear. For me the doctor is a friend and I would not be afraid of him at all. However, I do worry about things he might tell me. I had to go for a blood pressure test last year for a job interview and the nurse said it was so high I needed to talk to my doctor, so I was quite afraid of what he might say. It was not bad after all, he gave me a tester to borrow for a whole week and at the end of the week, I took it back and he said everything was fine and most likely the nurses test was different because I was nervous on the day. If I hadn't gone, I would have worried and worried but I went and it was all cleared up at once. I know you had a bad experience and that is what you are remembering , I think you know, if you told your doctor about it, they would understand and the feeling of having told them would lessen your worries.
