Do you own a Kitchenaid stand mixer? Are you satisfied with it?

I recently started baking a lot and I use american recipes, like Martha Stewart's cupcakes etc. In the recipes, she always says mix for 10 minutes, mix for 15 minutes... But since I only own a hand mixer, this is really hard and time consuming. So I started to look for a stand mixer. The kitchenaid Artisan seems to be the best in the field. It's very expensive in my country (it costs around 500 euro in europe), so I'm having second thoughts, because I don't know if I would be able to use it that much. Since it's huge, I would probably have to have it on the kitchen counter the whole time and my kitchen is not that big. So do you own one and what do you think of it? Do you use it a lot?

I have an artisian. I got mine on a deal at my work about a year ago. I do use it plenty. Though I have the same problem as you no counter space, so mine ends up on the kitchen table next to the micro w/ everything else that gets dumped there... I make alot of cookies or breads in mine. I occasionally even use it to mix dough for home made noodles or dumplings.

I think if I had one I would probably make bread dough in it too, but now we only buy bread. I don't have a big apartment so I really don't know where I would put it, especially because my mother would probably not use it but she would still need the counter. There are really so many things you can make with the artisan mixer, so I think I'm going to buy it really soon.

My mom owns the Kitchenaid that we are currently using at home, this past few years, I am now the one who is using it. Kitchenaid is really very helpful and I always use it whenever there are lots of orders. Way back in the 1900's, we used to own a bakeshop and without the aid of the Kitchenaid, it wouldn't be a lot easier to bake all the bread and pastries that we are selling. But yeah, we place our Kitchenaid on our kitchen counter. But in your case, since you have a small kitchen counter, I would suggest that you keep it back to its cartoon. But if you use it everyday, you might as well just place it on the counter or a corner where you can put it aside. Happy Baking! Take care!

The problem is that I don't think I would be using it every day. My mother uses the kitchen too and she rarely cooks or bakes something that requires a mixer, but she still needs the whole counter. Maybe I will discover so many uses for it that I'll be able to use it every day :D

I use mine a lot. I have had it for a few years and it still works well. There is a Cuisinart mixer that seems good too, but everyone I know has the KitchenAid one. It is difficult to move around. I do have a spot in the cupboard for mine, but I have to admit that I often leave it on the counter.

It's supposed to work for many years, like 20 or 30, right? I think that if I buy it it'll probably be the only mixer in my life. I sure hope so, because they're really expensive and if it broke down I would be really angry. It is so beautiful that many people leave it on the counter just so they can look at it all the time :D

I am very satified and love my mixer. I keep my on the counter all the time so I do not have to lug it out. It is heavy, but it works well. My husband likes to use it also. He likes to mix things in the mixer. My cat Smyles loves the the sound of the mixer and he sits in front of it whenever it goes off.
