One Thanksgiving about 28 years ago or so, I went camping in Death Valley with my sister Wendy and my brother Alan. We did all the usual Death Valley sightseeing, Scotty's castle, the sand dunes, Badwater, Marble canyon, etc. The first night we went to the ranger talk at Furnace Creek campground. The talk was about the native wildlife. For a place that is supposedly dead, there are actually quite a lot of animals there, snakes, birds, insects, coyotes, and lots of rodents, including pack rats.
So we went back to our tent and went wild on pack rats. We tried to think of as many kinds of pack rats as we possibly could. Only one rule, it had to rhyme. So, from memory, here are some of the silly things that we came up with:
Cadillac pack rats
Burt Bacharach pack rats
flapjack pack rats
backpack pack rats
amnesiac pack rats
Hackensack pack rats
I don't remember most of them, but we kept ourselves amused for hours. Silly us.
What kind of pack rats do you have? Do you play silly word games sometimes to keep yourselves amused?

I do it once in a while with my granddaughter....trying to teach her how to read and recognize words by the same sounds.....not really a game but kind of....funny how you think of something from the past once in a while. I was driving the other day and suddenly it popped into my head that we used to use the term "square" for people who we thought were nerdy? Wow.....that and a few others....

You and I would get along fine, Dawn! My hubby and I do stuff like that all the time. We have some friends with the same sense of humor that play a game with us called "acronymonology". If we are out to eat with them, for example, we look for some word written where we can see it. Then we come up with crazy acronyms for those words. For example "M-E-N-U" could be "men especially need underwear"! lol We could keep ourselves amused this way throughout the meal!

we have played games like I see the color blue and where can you find that color I am thinking of. Or play word games that try to fit together with the other words. Sounds like you went to a nice place to go camping and sight seeing. Never been there before. Its nice to travel and go see different things.

That is true. your game was different but it sounded like fun to do. Its nice to think of something different in stead of the same thing all the time.
