In these days everyone wants to sell something. want to promote a product, want to sell in supermarkets and at your door, push you ask you to buy something, he begged, insist. They are in supermarkets, call on your door, are on the street, come to your office; and all want same thing, to sell something, to promote a product,Usually you have patience, and I listen, or leave immediately, nervous, or even say you do not have time for nonsense. Can understand that people will just have to win some money for their family, and they doing just theirs job.

People promoting items do not bother me. If it is something that I have interest in I will listen to what they have to say; but if it is something that I would never consider buying then I usually say that I am just not interested. If the become persistant then I will usually restate the fact that I am not interested and that they are wasting my time and theirs because I will not be buying it. Then I will typically be like "Thank you and have a nice day." and walk away.

I remember going to Las Vegas with my husband and since we were running low on funds we decided to sit in on a couple of meetings to receive some freebies. For over 1 hour we sacrificed ourselves to being sold to timeshares that were out of our reach. We really wanted the freebies which included dinner and a show but the hardcore selling that the salesmen put on us drained us a bit. The first one was nice. He talked about his family and how this has gotten him more than his other jobs. It got us pumped but we weren't interested. The second lady was made us feel a bit degraded. Even though we felt she was doing her job, it wasn't worth it to question us 'You want to waste your life no knowing that there are places you can go?' blah, it was demeaning, but in the end, we got our freebies and no more meetings from there on.

If someone pushes me to buy something, then I want it even less. I have gotten into some really good arguments with sales people, because they were too pushy.

I feel bad when these people annoy me because they are just doing their job but it can be frustrating at times as well. I think I ammaybe too soft and I know once they catch my eye that I will be sucked in lol. The ott friendliness gets on my nerves though. You do not care how my day has been, youy only wnat me to but whatever you're selling lol.

Yes that does bother me when someone tries to push you into buying something you don't want. I understand how you feel when people come to your door, make phone calls to your house or even tries to push things on you in the store. If I tell them no thank you on the phone and they don't get the hint I just hang up the phone. I have a site I sell my candles and soaps on but I never push or beg anyone to buy anything. That isn't the kind of person I am.

It really aggravates me when people are really pushy and pressurize me to buy whatever junk they are trying to shill I just want to tell them to...Well, I won't go into expletive language here, but you get the idea. If I want to purchase an item, I will, but if I don't then thrusting it in my face will just make me less likely to buy it

I don't mind if they are promoting or selling stuff at a store or door to door. I don't like it when they are really pressuring me to buy stuff. Then i will just close the door on them or walk away. I don't like being bullied by strangers to buy something I don't really need.

Hi Icesmile, It is quite common that sales guy would like to promote their product while you are going shopping. Every time when they come to me, I would leave immediately without listening to anything. There are cases that people are being cheated when they accept the pamphlet or products, which may involve the poisoning element. A whiff of ether will put you out in a few seconds. It is horrible, thus I will be very alert. My husband has ever lost 20 thousand 10 years ago when he got the leaflet from the guy. As you know, 20 thousand was quite a large amount two years ago.

If a salesman persistently ask me to buy their products, I may feign annoyance and tell him I am not interested and it's better that he approach someone else who may be keen on his products. I thoroughly understand the motivation behind a salesman's persistence. However, I will not give in if I am not interested.

It annoys me if they follow me around like I'm going to get the items and run away without paying for it. If things like this happen, I leave the store and go to another one. I think I know what I am doing and if I need help with something then that's the time they can help me.

Usually i will say no. I had an awful experience when i was doing my hair, one employee of the barbershop strongly recommend me to choose one kind of hair style, of which cost several times than normal. After i said more than 10 times " no ",he still was persuading me how the hair style fits me. i didnt get angry at the time, but i never visit that barbershop again.

Oh I totally agree, I get so annoyed when I get telemarketers calls, and when you go to any store they always try to push you, when they talk they talk so fast that you can't even understand what they are saying, the conversation is extremely impersonal, and the best line is something like "Oh I will give you this cheaper because you are a nice person"... really? No one gives everything for free, especially someone that you just meet.

If the sales persons comes at the rite time then they are the kings, if not they fail. But they are not worried about. If you think like "people will just have ti win some money for their family" then at the end of the day everybody is doing the same. If we are in a hurry to office and some sales guy comes to us sell some products, definitely you will shout at that guy or at least make sure that he moves out of you way. Instead if you feel pity for that guy that doesn't means that your boss/manager feel the same for you. This happens not only for the people on the move but to housewives as well. If they are preparing for some parties and got interrupted by these, then you can see the devil in her :-). So what I feel is wherever you are, if you are free and caught by a sales guy then you will become a valuable customer of him.

I can understand this but it does annoy me. I am not good at saying no, and I would like to be able to comfortably go out and make a planned purchase without a bunch of other stuff thrown in.

Yes i know about your point of view and so every people want sell to gain money for themselves!!i always thought that pushing other people to buy a product or a service is not a so good way to sell more especially if they insist too much!!Normally when i buy i like to think and consider this on my mind and in many cases no people or situation will influence my final decision as well

Luckily the law is against doorsalesmen in Denmark, which i have happily enjoyed until i moved to the Netherlands, here they are allowed, but only in a certain manner as far as i know. I dont buy anything from people who seem pushy, i just block them out and say no thank you. The worst thing is that those on commision are those who are most pushy, which is understandable since they want to make a good salery out of the day.
