Do you do some research when you get into a discussion?

Do you see the pictures and posters people put over an interest?
I do! And I´m very happy to see the ones we have at the coven. They only show how artsey are we at witchcraft.
The brilliant witch that uploaded those beauties could tell the less computer doted hoe he/she did it.
It seems this site will make us learn a lot of things. And I still have the work of digging in my old records to see who sang That old blackmagic hollow. It´s a pity there are no witches here as old as I (and still capable of remembering things).
My name meant reading pages at the Wikipedia to learn about the mapuches. And I still have to see a lot of the links with the theme songs. There´s a whole list of witches´ interests. Let´s post. And an A PLUS to the pictures.
Thanks friends

It depends on what the subject matter is, how much I already know about it, and what mood I am in when choosing to respond to a subject. I will verify facts, especially if they are important to either supporting my opinion or to disproving what someone else is saying. If it is a serious subject and it really interests me but I do not know a lot about it, I might either research it or just ask questions about it. If I do the latter, then that gives the original poster of the discussion more opportunity to respond and further the dialog. On the other hand, I do not want to appear ignorant with my questions, so I will try to tailor them around something that I already know about the subject.
There are some days, though, when I am just in a silly mood, and I do not want to answer or respond to anything seriously. On these occasions, I will try to stick to friends discussions that I know will not mind my silliness and sometimes rather obvious off-topic responses, although I do try to somewhat stick with the topic but maybe take it in a direction that it was not originally intended to go.

I agree. That is, I would have agreed but... Since I have been with you, people, I´ve had a lot of homeworkto do. I had to check on my knowledge of greek mithology, learn a little of the natives of my own country, even rediscover the name of the singer of one of the songs of my youth.
And then, understanding witty people in another language is a lot more difficult than to do it in one´s own language. Every country has it´s own way of laughing. Emoticons are easier.

"understanding witty people in another language is a lot more difficult than to do it in one´s own language" - I definitely agree with that.
However, sometimes it is quite difficult to understand them even if they are speaking in your native tongue.
I do agree that the emoticons help to express our thoughts, so that what we are saying is not misinterpreted, especially if we are joking and do not want to be taken seriously. I really like the new emoticons that they have added, too, and I think that this particular one was designed just for me!

Ooops, I of course meant that this one was designed just for me -
. No, I guess I was right the first time.

Sometimes I do but most of the times I don't. Well it's usually, how can I say this, hmmm...I only to discussions that interest me or I know I have something to say. Whenever there is a friend discussion that I do not know I would be honest and say I'm not familiar and give my thoughts and see if I got the picture right then I do some research
