Need Traffic for a New Blog?

Here's an idea, let's use myLot to support each other. If you're working on a new blog and need some traffic or would like some comments, post some information about your blog here along with a link.
One rule, reciprocate. If you post a link, visit a link. If you want quality comments, give quality comments.

Is your blog a dofollow? If it is, you can submit to followlist.
There are some good blogs at followlist, so I dont think you have a problem finding good blogs for commenting purpose.
I also recommend Reddit, a bookmarking service. There is an interest group for writers, you can submit the links to each blog posts in Reddit. I have success with a couple of the links, but most links do not get traffic.

i'm not a big fan of those kinds of sites because unless you have a large network already established, you don't really get much in the way of reponse. i'll check out dofollow and reddit as they are new to me but i saw little to nothing in the way of return from digg or stumbleupon. i do a lot better indexing my articles to sites like blogengage or xomba in terms of driving traffic.

I wanted to visit your blog, but the link doesn't work. Maybe the whole site is down, I don't know. i visited other blogs though. The goal of my writing isn't to earn a lot of money, although that would certainly be really good :D I write because I recently started baking and I want to document all of my successes and failures somewhere. I'm currently baking all of the cupcakes from Martha Stewart's book. When I finish that, I'll move on to Rose's heavenly cakes. I just love baking :)

thanks for trying! unfortunately the servers crashed out on friday and the site was down. it's hosted on a WP MU platform so I have no control over the hosting issues and wasn't expecting that the servers weren't equipped. alas, 3 days of no webtime and a lot of new little bugs to fix in my content...neat idea on the blog i'll check it out...btw, have you heard of SITS? there are a couple of interesting cupcake blogs that are connected to that community.

yes getting traffic and good comments by other is necessary for a blogger. to get so he will have to comment on other blogs. i want to make a group of blogger who would comment on each other and would increase the traffic. i will see your blog and will comment on it. go to my profile and see my blog and comment on it.

True, we need to visit others if we want other people to visit yours. I have to agree with that and yeah, leaving a comment always makes the site owner happy and they will come by to our site to thank us. And when we're lucky, they will also promote our site to others!

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I left a comment on yours this morning. One thing that might make your readers a bit more engaged is if you share your experiences with a site while reviewing it. For the Helium article for example, I know what Helium is, but if I'm going to really think about trying it, I'd want to know how well it works for other writers. That's something that I try to keep in mind when I write for my blog.
