Why people addicted to become great software programmer?

You know when you know a program language you can also do many useful or funny things with your computer and in many cases you can really create an inner world or application useful for you,your daily usage and so on...on the contrary many people who don't know about it they depends from big brand or big tech factory and so in many cases they can be not satisfied about programs,softwares,devices and so on..in some cases it cna be a good way to simplify your computer usage and adopt them for your needs!

yup, thats true... language is very import in terms of programming... many of us used visual basic, mysql and others. but my question is how would you know if the person master in said topic?
