What do you think about our jobs working from 9 - 5?

What is the work culture mainly in India? Go to work at 9 or 10 A.M- Be there in office till 7 or 8 P.M-Come back relax for few minutes eat and sleep.This is what most of them do and most of the companies want their employers to do.They don't have a proper working time?.They are expected to do more than they could. Why I specifically say Indians is that atleast in other countries they can work from home at times but in India its very rare to do that. If this is the case then when do we have leisure time for our family?This is totally a mechanical life where people become machines in a very short span of time. This makes them very stressful and some move to the habits of drinking and smoking to relieve from this stress. What do you people think about this? Hope this situation changes in the near future.
