When you go to the beauty salon to get a haircut what type of client are you?

What I mean by this is, what how much do you chat with your hair stylist? I have seen some people like to chat through out the haircut, some chat a little in the beginning and then prefer to remain silent with an occasional answer, and then there are some that go straight to the point. The say hi to the hairstylist and tell them what they want done and zip their lips. I think it also depends on how long you know the hairstylist too, though :) So, what type are you? How much do you chat with your hairstylist?

I'm the type of client who just want to cut my hair short . I just sit don't and don't even talk. I'm the quiet type. :D

Well I often get my haircut with the same stylist and when I do since I know her I talk to her for a little bit and then remain quiet and then later I may mention something else to her. I do this for different reasons:
1) because I notice she is also not a super talkative person either, she likes to concentrate on her work.
2)Because I also run out of things to say to her.
3) but most of all, because it's my time to relax and if I'm talking I can't completely relax. And I love it when people touch my hair; wash it, cut it, comb it. It feels so good...so relaxing. So, basically I talk to her a little bit in the beginning and then I close my eyes, let her do the job and enjoy this little time of pampering that I occasionally have for myself:)

When I was in California I would chat with my hairstylist because she was a friend of mine and when my friend (may she rest in peace) was diagnosed with Cancer and had to go through Chemo my friend opened her shop early so my friend with cancer could get her hair shaved off without having everyone stare at her. Now that I am in Nevada I talk very little. I will tell the person what I want and that I want my hair washed, but other than that I am not very talkative. I am not used to the lady yet, but I am sure once I get to know her I will talk a little more.

I'm the quiet type too. I come there to get my hair cut and that's all. If the hairstylist asks questions I answer them and if they are smart enough I talk with them too about everything. But the thing I hate the most is gossip. I did not come there to hear all about someone, I don't care, just cut my hair and let me leave! I really don't like female hairstylists in small towns like mine who know everything about everyone and are loud and talk too much. I really just want them to leave me alone.

I usually talk a lot but I have been to "classy" salons that the stylists don't want to talk much. They just have a smug look on their face like they're Vidal Sassoon and it's like they're saying "don't talk to me or you'll ruin my inspiration". I usually remain quiet and uncomfortable around them.
