Do you steer clear from touchy topics?

Yes I do avoid certain topics with people. I am not one that likes confrontations with people.

If I know my line of thinking is particularly offensive to a friend, I just don't bring it up when around them. However, if the subject comes up during the course of conversation, I speak my mind & let the chips fall where they may. I have one really good friend that looks at everything in the complete opposite of how I see it. We've just learned to agree to disagree!!! I don't intentionally offend friends with my thinking, but I don't purposely avoid offending them either. The way I see it is they know how I feel & they aren't worried about offending me. Me & ALL my friends are old enough to just get over it. I REFUSE to have only friends who agree with me & my thinking. I'm ALWAYS open to others point of view & expect the same from them!!!

java with so many really intersting topics to talk about I will not fight for my beliefs with someone whom I know will tromp all over my political or religious beliefs, I will change the topic and if the other person refuses to go with me, I will quietly excuse myself and leave.I do not have to let myself be made fun or harassed by someone bent on trying to change my opinions. I am much too old to have to kowtow to anyone so I will not do that.
