Tomorrow we head off to a friend's house to look after their dog while they go away for a few days. I've met Ginger once before and sshe seemedvery gentle and contented. They got her from a greyhound rescue centre but are convinced she's more like a saluki. That is the breed that was found in ancient Egypt and we can see pictures of them in the old tombs and temples on our holiday there last year. I'm a little anxious at having the responsibility, but I'm hoping it will like a short break holiday as it's in an area in the country that we are not very familiar with. Have you ever done anything like this?

My daughter does this to earn extra money, she usually has several dogs to sit and makes about $50.00 per day. She lives in their house and takes care of all the things around the home as well as the pets. She will even dog sit a pet who beclongs to a tourist who wants to do something and can't take their dog with them. We have many things to do in our area that dogs can't do. River rafting, rock climbing, theater and concerts, so people love being able to leave their dogs with someone who is experienced.

That sounds like a really good idea. Actually my brother-in-law suggested on the phone tonight that we could do it professionally. We do it for another friend who brings the dog to stay with us and used to have our own dog, so we're not exactly inexperienced.
