Bad reputations, good personal experiences.

In this world, we here rumors about people. Some rumors that are good. Some rumors that are bad. There are people that before we meet them in person, we tend to build up a mental picture in our mind, even if we try to judge them on our own experiences. So, my question is, have you ever met a person who everyone said was a complete jerk or mean but you had nothing but positive experiences with them? I admit that for two years, I had heard horror stories about a teacher. This was not just from people who liked to stir up trouble either, mind you. When I had found out I was to have a class with this person, I had dreaded it. However, I had no problems with the teacher. We got along fairly well. I guess, it could be luck or certain things being blow out of portion.
