Laptop Parts Test Check

Dear friends, I'm planning to sell off my old Pentium 4 Acer laptop. All the while i have been getting blue screen and some parts were running very loud. I'm not quite sure what and where is the problem. I guess it might be mainboard or harddisk problem as i always get error message such as "cyclic redundancy check error". My question is how can i check whether which part of the laptop is faulty? Thank you.
