Hello, I honestly can say that I think the same way and feel like that maybe I post the wrong discussions or maybe post it at the wrong time. For me I tend to post discussions that would help me out with getting responses to topics that I need info on. Although that alone does not help at all, because I posted a discussion about 3 days ago and have not gotten one response and I was hoping for at least one because the discussion was about something that I really need to know. I tried getting the info I needed on the net but had no luck so I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to help me out with it. So I tend to throw the discussions up and hope for the best. I think that is the only thing we can do anymore. It use to be so easy getting responses but that is not the case now days unless you post stupid discussions like what's your favorite food or color. It is like everyone is getting bored with posting real needed advice discussions that could really help people out. Well I just think we need to keep plucking away and things will get better. Happy Mylotting

i have the feeling that sometimes i am posting the discussions at the wrong time of the day and not alot of people are getting the chance to see it depending what time of the day it is where they are. i think a long time ago i was having some computer problems and started a discussion to see if someone had similar issues and go no responses on it, but eventually i figured out the problem on my own. i do like this site, but sometimes get frustrated when i can't seem to find what discussions to respond to or to start them about.

Hello, you are very much right with that. It seems like that it is hard for people to see our discussions if we put it up at a certain time but hey you never know they just might to the discussions that have no responses at some point. At least we get some cents for the little bit we do try to do. Well have fun and good luck with mylotting. Happy mylotting

i am usually up late and for some reason i seem to get alot of ideas late at night and if i think of something that interests me and realizing that just because something is of interest to me it may not be to others and that is ok. i will put up a discussion around that time and with all the international members on here it is hard to know when they might see it. thanks for your response

Well I have come to the conclussion that there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to what topics are best or when is best to post them. Trust me I have tried starting different topics from humorous to series, long and short and no matter what time of day I posted the response rate would fluctuate. So I gave up on trying to work out when and what to post. The only self imposed rule I go by is not to post too many discussions at once in case people got sick of seeing my name keep coming up.

i just try to post when i think would be a good time for alot of people to see it i know my friends will try to comment if they get on, but its also nice to get the opinion of others as well. it does seem if you post too many they do seem to get lost in with all the others. it is also hard to come up with a discussion that someone else hasn't already thought of, but you can always try to put a new spin on it that someone may not have thought of. thanks for your response

Almost anytime is a great time to post a discussion! Anytime you have something to say; a position an opinion or a stance. Everytime you learn something of value; Everyone here on Mylot loves to learn and spend much of the time here doing just that. Anytime you need to know something; this place is a wealth of information full of people 24/7 who are experts on just about everything. Happy Mylotting!!

you are probably right in that no matter what time i would put up a discussion someone is going to see it. the hard part is finding a topic that someone else hasnt already done. it is tough to come up with an original idea on here.

I hear ya, I have the same problem.. I don't start many discussions.. and Apparently many of them I start at the wrong time of the day.. which is the middle of the night for me... And then, all these people "wake up" and start tons of discussions and mine gets buried and soon discussions I thought were good have gotten too few responses. Or Mylot deletes them when they get a bunch.. and I get annoyed with the whole situation. LOL that has happened more often than not lately.

it is nice to know im not the only one who has this opinion. it is nice to know that you are not alone in some things. i am usually up late at night which for me is midnight or later being on the east coast here. so i will think of things late at night and i may not completely think them out before i post them. i think if i put up too many discussions they will just get lost in with all the others so i try not to put up too many at once. thanks for your response

Anytime is a good time but you don't have to post discussions to participate. You can just respond to existing discussions by your friends, on the no response pages, on the new user pages... You will still earn and you can still discuss and network based on what is interesting to you.

i do have the tendency at times to overthink things a bit. i guess it doesn't really matter when you post a discussion a group of people will get to see it. i just try to come up with something that is a relevant topic. nice thing about this site is you can get lots of different points of view. i tend to be on here at lots of different times of the day so when i think get a topic in my head that i think might be interesting that is when i usually will post one.

i will usually take notice at the bottom of the home page where my discussions are listed and the most recent one that had a post or a comment will be at the top. for instance this one that you just made has placed this discussion at the top of my discussion list.

Do you go back and respond to the comments even after you stop receiving notifications?

Hi there..i think we have same difficulty. i mean, i also try to post an interesting discussion(in my opinion), but sometimes had a plenty responses. i have seen any discussion from a member here which have similar topic than mine, and you know what, it has a lot of responses, but mine only have 4 responses. i don't know what the best time to post discussion, or maybe we need a luck to get more responses? hehe..thanx.

I never even thought about what time was best to post . I think of a post , something that either pi$$ed me off or a good question I need help with , and I post it the minute I'm online. There are too many members to try to think what post would Everyone like. I have many friends and many interests so I am dsure there will be at least one person who will respond. And if no one does? It's okay . At least I tried. So just think of the best question to ask and send it out . I have your notice "on" so I'll get an email whenever you post. I promise to read it and try to respond.

well the nice thing on here is you can usually depend on your friends to respond. i still try to come up with something that is of some interest to my friends and to myself of course and i will usually try to think of something that i believe i can contribute to the discussion with, cause what's the point of starting a discussion if you have no real input to contribute. i do enjoy taking part in our sports related discussions. thanks for your response

I don't think there's any particular time of day that's better for posting -- remember, we have an international membership here. If you feel like posting something, just post it. Don't worry so much.

i guess i may overthink things sometimes. it's probably why i had been gone so long before, cause i just got a little frustrated with finding discussions of interest to respond to and with thinking of discussions to post.

I think this question was posted or similar to this when I first started here at mylot. And I think they said in the early evening right when people get home from work was the best time for people to post discussions and to get the best amount of responses. You could do a testing of this and post some discussions at different times of the day to see which one gets the most responses. I know it will be a little skewed as the topics will be different. But hey it's worth a try! I don't have that time availability to try it.

that is another thing having the free time to not only start a discussion, but to have the time to respond to all the posts on your discussion. i do have a decent amount of free time when i am not at my parents visiting. i am trying to get more active on here and as i am i will do more posting. thanks for your response nice hearing from you again terri

Don't be so hard on yourself for goodness sake!! There is no ideal time to start a discussion from what I have seen since there are mylotters from all over the world. And if you have an idea for a discussion, go for it. Chances are good that someone else might be thinking about starting a topic similar and that is all well and good! Start a topic on something you like, dislike, need advice on, an interest you have etc...There are no limitations on the kind of discussions you can start. The diversity of mylotters will show you over time the kind of topics that folks think about and or will respond to! Most of all, have fun here and earn a bit of pocket money!! Be well!!

that is the one nice thing is everyone has there own interests and what may be interesting to one person may not be to another, but its nice to have different viewpoints on topic which is a nice thing about this site, because it has people from all over on it. i do have a tendency to overthink at times and i just realized i misspelled discussions at the top. thanks for your response.

I am guilty of overthinking things at times too! But at least we do know that about ourselves. Ideally, we all continue to grow as we proceed in life and self knowledge is a huge part of it in my humble opinion. Take care!!

Sometimes i do not know what to type as a discussion either. i just let it flow naturally and i mostly state discussions when i am really in the most and have a clear idea of what i want to portray.

i believe it is best to stick to a topic that interests you or one you have a strong opinion on in this way i believe you have something yo offer to that discussion topic or subject.

best i can say is try to start a discussion that interests you and see how it goes, because you can never be sure on here what will be a popular discussion and what will not be.
