Hearts for Haiti at etsy.com There is an entire section of etsy that is being devoted to making crafts and selling them so that the profits go to Haiti's Doctors without borders. There are two ways a person can help. If a person is a crafter and already has crafts on etsy, that person can just read the rules for donating to Hearts for Haiti, then follow the rules. You will be operating at a loss because they are having the crafter send the item for free (so you will loose the price of the item and the postage or whatever method you use to send it). If the person is not a crafter there, then you would need to set up shop. The other possibility is to buy items from etsy after you scroll to handmade items and type in Hearts for Haiti at the top. There are probably other crafters and other craft sites that are trying to do something for Haiti, also. This is the one I know about. I just checked some of the offerings. Really pretty stuff. I received an email about it, so I thought I would let other people here know about it.

i think this is a great idea! i am a huge devotee of etsy and often go there for inspiration (and to buy the odd item too!) i think anything we can do for the Hatians during this time helps!

They've raised thousands of dollars so far, but you know how much medical costs! Still, you've got to be proud of them.

That's a very creative way for etsy to help out. I have been on that site a couple of times and there are some really nice things on there too.

The beautiful hearts that were donated, so many ways to make hearts, some I had never thought of. Pages upon pages of them. They have sooo many donated that it can take two or more days to get back to new crafters who want to donate and they're also looking for people to help. The response by crafters has been amazing! If you get a chance, check out the Hearts for Haiti pages. At least the first few. It's amazing!
