...I just eat it because it's convenient or I'm hungry. NOW. Before anybody says that means it would be fine if it didn't exist blah blah, that isn't true. I am not EVER for getting RID of fast food. I have just discovered that I don't really like it. If given a choice between fast food and a sit down meal, I'd rather have a sit down meal, or something I pick up to make/cook myself - unless it is far too late and/or I am exhausted.
I don't include Subway as fast food either, even though some people might.
Do you like fast food or is it just one of those things you don't give two beeps about? A lot of the new menu items places are getting are making me nauseous when I hear about them.

Why don’t you like fast food? Is it a recent thing or something you’ve always avoided? In my case, I enjoyed fast food as long as I was young LOL meaning as long as my body’s metabolism rate was fast enough to digest it without problem and keep the fats from piling up. As you know, with age our body’s metabolism rate reduces and is the ideal time to avoid street foods or food rich in oil and fat. So in my late 30’s I too avoid them until and unless absolutely necessary. I have those oil-free pulses and other similar snacks which are good enough to munch on during the evening times before dinner…its only occasionally that I maybe tempted to enter a fast food shop.

Don't get me wrong, there are still times when I do want a burger or a taco or something but it's been more recent that occasionally a menu item will make me want to gag and wonder how I can eat ANYTHING there. I think maybe I have had a little too much fast food lately because I've gone to places with friends - places with play areas for the kids, etc. It's not really good for the kids either. I mean once a week or less it prob doesn't matter, but....
When I was younger, like teen to maybe mid 20s, I LOVED fast food. A couple years ago I started working out again and put myself on a diet. It was mostly a health thing because I didn't want to worry about having to take chronic medication for anything! As a result, I started eating a lot more whole and fresh food, and that's probably when the idea of fast food started getting to me. I still eat processed and frozen food at HOME, but those don't generally make me feel nauseous when I hear commercials for them lol. I can also combine things that may not be so good for me with things that are, like fresh veggies and fruits, and sauce and dips on the SIDE, not drowning my fruit or veggies, or main dishes not swimming in butter, salt, and mayo lol.
My metabolism seems to be all right as long as I work out, so when I tell people I work out in order to be able to eat whatever I want, that is the honest truth lol.

Working out so that you can eat whatever you want to is really the best of both worlds

I love fastfood. McDonald's Quarter Pounder and Double/Cheeseburger in particular. But I also love BK's chicken sandwich. the local Jollibee is also definitely a favorite. I can live on this food, but that wouldn't be healthy of course. :) Home cooked meals and sit down dinners will always be preferred, but in my book, you can't go wrong with fast food :)

I am not much of a of Pizza Huts Burger kings, Mc donalds, Hungry Jacks and the other fast food retail outlets. I prefer home made delicious nutritive good cooked food. Unfortunately fast food is ready available, cheap in price and therefore is very tempting. I only fall for Maltese pastizzi. These are type of pastry which is filled with a filling of your choice. usually it is either ricotta or peas. Friends of mine in Australia make it with different flavour such as ricotta and bacon, or seafood ones. Look at the image if you want to have an idea what a maltese pastizzi is

That actually sounds good... the pastizzi. We have something sort of like that... calzones, which are usually stuffed with pizza toppings. My favorite one had sausage, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, and spicy sauce. I could actually make those at home on a stone with premade rolled out pizza dough.

I have a dislike not so much of fast food itself, although in the main it is poorly produced, but of the ethics of the suppliers - especially chicken restaurants. Frankly I think that eating should be a pleasure and that is not something that I have ever experienced in a fast food restaurant. The average burger is a little block of tasteless stodge that goes down fast and then weighs heavy in your stomach for the next hour or so. The restaurants are designed for a high turnover and their chief selling point to me is the availability of toilets! They are cheap (ish) but for a similar amount of money you can get a better meal in almost any small family restaurant or cafe. However, in a society that no longer knows how to relax maybe they are what we deserve.

I have to admit that it is nice when I can find a drive thru if I need one - if it is NOT applicable to go inside because I am sick, or I have kids who are screaming or asleep, etc, but it's still not really what I want.
I do also like the burritos from Chipotle but I don't really consider those fast food either.
I don't spend a lot of time eating inside fast food places. My hubby really only likes to eat at places we go for dates - which are nice places lol. If we are getting pizza or burgers or something quick, I bring it home. It's nice in that respect because I can bring it home and we can relax and eat, so even if the food isn't that great, it was cheap, didn't take time to prep, didn't create a mess in the kitchen, and we can just sit on the bed and chat or watch tv lol.

I'll eat fast food just to break up the monotony of eating a home cooked meal. Fast food just makes me sick sometimes, now I like Chic Fil A because its not greasy. All the others just sell crap.

I don't know why that stupid grilled cheese with bacon made me nauseous, but just hearing the commercial icked me out, and I LIKE grilled cheese sandwiches! I usually make them with turkey or ham, but MINE are good. They aren't made with a whole freaking lb of cheese and bacon. GROSS.

I've always been a fast food junkie. I love fast food places. I like home cooked meals too but for years and years fast food was my complete diet
And yes, Subway does constitute a fast food place although I rarely ever eat there. Not junky enough for my hamburger tastes

I don't know if you ever watch the Dr. Oz show or Oprah. Diabetes is now an epidemic in most Western countries and fast food is a major contributor.
Mostly though the way the supplies are produced is shocking. Beef is produced in some central American countries for McDonald's and Burger King. Streches of rain forest are destroyed and converted into pasture for cattle. Then torrential rains erode the land and cause land slides on a regular basis. The land also gets used up and nothing much will grow after the cattle have been consumed by overweight diabetic North Americans.
Chickens are produced en masse in tiny cages, they basically just eat until they get pumped full of hormones, antibiotics and chemical laden food and then they are slaughtered and consumed.
Girls start puberty at a younger and younger age because these hormones from live stock have an effect on humans as well.
I am not saying that one should never have fast food but in particular in North America it seems to be consumed to excess. Here the best and most beautiful food could be grown and yet the peculiar thing is that once this food is grown it gets stripped of nutrients and pumped full of dangerous things.
We all lead hectic lives and sometimes are too exhausted to cook a lot and yet I have seen long lineups at take out places for fast food. With a little bit of advance planning we can prepare a fast healthy meal in minutes at our home.
The end.. of my rant against fast food.

I am not a big fan of fast food either. I just dont like the greasiness of it and I feel guilty everytime I have to eat it because of work. I mean I would rather be able to go into a place like starbucks and eat a salad I made at home for a few quick minutes before my next client.

It just doesnt' seem to sit well.... like I don't feel well later if all I've eaten is fast food. I can make a salad so quickly, just chop up romaine hearts, chop a tomato, half an avocado, a pepper, maybe a boiled egg if I have one, some turkey, and shredded cheese. It takes me only a couple minutes - IF I'M HOME lol.

I don't really consider Subway to be a fast food restaurant. I don't like eating fast food either, but I do it when I don't have time to cook, or when it is really late and night. I only eat fast food a few times per month, but I think even that is too much. McDonald's and Burger King are probably two of the most unhealthy restaurants you can choose from. I only eat at either of these places a couple of times per month. I work in a restaurant, and I eat there most of the time. We have some pretty healthy salads on our menu, and we have some good chicken salad as well, so I don't have to settle for eating all the greasy fast food burgers and things like that. If I do choose to eat fast food, I usually go to What-a-Burger. However, I will go to Burger King on occasion, and every now and then, I will go to McDonald's, but I only go to these places every now and then...

I used to honestly be a fast food junkie. Now, however, I could definitely leave it. I can't stand McDonalds, and a lot of the other ones I would just as soon leave than take. I honestly can't believe that there was a time in my life where I would eat at least one meal a day from a fast food establishment. That stuff will fill you up if you are hungry, but if I am asked the question of whether it actually tastes good, the answer is no.

I too eat it "because it's convenient." If I have to stay in a place where I can't cook, then I have no choice but to eat fast food. The problem with fast food is that I don't have too much of a choice. Hamburgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, fries,... there's not much for me. But there is nothing like good old home made cooking. Fast Food will never be as good as a sit down meal. Subway is fast food, so even though you don't think so, you still like some form of fast food.

let's face it, fastfoods are going to stay for a while. it augurs well to the global lifestyle -- past-faced and work-focused. with the emerging trend on health and wellness, people start to question the effect of food from this joints. but you see, most of the fastfood chains have also added green salads and all other health foods in their menus... call that adaptation, not innovation... so you can see, fastfoods are also coping with the new demand... we'll have them for longer times...

i typically dont like fast food either because i find it greasy and i dont like most of their french fries. i also find that now a days that fast food is almost as expensive as a good sit down meal in a restaurant so i would rather go there than eating fast food.

Generally I prefer a sit down meal too. There are certain items that I like though. Anything deep fried just tastes gross to me and I'm only in a burger kind of mood once in a long while...

I am a pretty good cook, so is my husband, so our at home meals are always good. But for some strange reason I'd prefer to get fast food. It's not so much for the convenience, because I don't mind cooking at home. It just seems fast food meals are more appetizing to me. Usually when I have a craving for a food... it's fast food! I don't crave ice cream or cookies, I crave Big Macs and Whoppers.
I haven't had fast food in awhile though... been watching my weight. I have had Subway.. that's on my Okay list of places to eat and still lose weight.

I think it's nice to get out and I don't like fast food either. But it's all I can afford right now. Once in a while I enjoy going out shopping and I do go for lunch or dinner in fast food places. But I don't do it often.
