Is it a boy or is it it a girl?

When my wife was pregnant, friends and relatives(specially the older ones), would tell her it's going to be a boy because, her tummy looks pointed, her skin has grown dark, she has become ugly. On the other side, they would say it's a girl because she has become more beautiful, her skin is glowing or her tummy looks so round. There were other indications depending on who the person was. There were also other reasons the old folks believed in. How about in your culture or country? What do the older folks believe when trying to guess the baby's gender?

In my home country people ask a pregnant lady if she is having a girl or a boy. If a lady is having a girl her skin is meant to be very smooth. If a lady is having a boy the lady might have a light brown line down her bump. The lady can hold a needle and cotton over her bump. If it moves in a circle she is having a girl. If it moves in a straight line she is having a boy. I didn't know the gender of my first child until he was born. I went to have a gender scan and my second child was a boy. I had a scan in the fetal medicine unit and found out my third child is a girl. So I have a baby girl, a toddler son and a teenage son.
