I think you are rewarded for this act ,12 hours without water in summers for god is really a very religious matter .I`ve seen in a friends family that after breaking the fast they drink lots of refreshing beverages , juices and drinks with lots of fruits and various types of starters with delicious food. Keep it up !

Yes, it is possible to survive without water for 12 hours (otherwise your religious leaders would not have made such a law for you to follow to show how much you love God). It may be a demonstration of your devotion but does it actually help to further the Kingdom of God upon Earth or help God in any way? Does it make other people want to worship your God or does it simply say to other men "Look how devoted I am! I can go without water for 12 hours!" You recognise the man Jesus as one of the greatest prophets. Did He not once say to a foreign woman (a Samaritan) who asked Him for water from a well: "People soon become thirsty again after drinking this water. But the water I give them takes away thirst . . . It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life."? While I understand how devoted you are to your religion and the things that it teaches you to do as acts of denial, I ask you to understand that it is not God who has commanded or suggested that you do this but men. They, no doubt, have spiritual enhancement in mind when they make these rules but your duty is to God, not to them. ALL religions are mirrors and images and depictions of the Truth (not just Islam but most people's 'Christianity' just as much). There is great truth to be found in the Bible and in the Q'ran and the Granth Sahib and also in many other holy books. St Paul (a fanatical Jew turned fanatical Christian) expressed it well when he said: "For now we see, as through a glass, darkly [in his day, glass and mirrors were less perfect than they are now] but THEN (that is, when all men agree to accept God alone as the one Lord) we shall see face to face." In the mean time, by all means fast, make pilgrimages, wear sackcloth and ashes, give money to the poor - these things are psychologically good for us and can make us remember our relationship with God (we don't look into our own hearts and nature and motives often enough) - but by boasting about it (as you are doing), we completely negate the effect it is supposed to have on us!

We have out Fast every October of every year. And I know that when it is sultry hot, then, I know for a shadow of a doubt that I can't do without water for 12 whole hours. If I am outside, I will want some water. And if I am inside a building that is very hot, I will thirst for some cold icy water. I don't think that I could go that long without having me something cold to drink.

No prob, I get to drink only two cups a day. We still live a rural life despite the modernity of living.
