What is your birthstone and what is its meaning?

What is your birthstone? Do you believe that our birthstones tell others who we are? Do you believe in such stuff? They also say that crystals and stones have certain effects on people. And there were studies supporting this theory, What's your take on this?

My birthstone is a Ruby......and it must have some effect on me as my favorite color is red.....I think anyway....if you look at my house blue is prominent and when I sorted my scrapping paper....I had a ton of blue and green. But if stone and gems effect me in any other way I am not aware of it....I do love my birthstone.

My birthstone is Amethyst. Supposed to support sobriety and meditation. I don't drink and I have been known to meditate.

My birthstone is Topaz and its meaning is this: Topaz is a soothing, empathetic stone that will direct energy to the place it is most needed. It heals and energizes. Topaz is a promoter of truth and forgiveness. Use it to find your own path. which of coarse... doesn't fit me at all! lol.
