I had free time to stroll in the mall yesterday as I was looking for a comfortable chair for my computer. Again, I gave in to my old habit of "wasting" time by looking around. My interest was caught on the chinaware and glassware display there. There were very nice items in different colors. And they were tagged "nicely", too (lol, expensive ones really).
Do you like your chinaware and glassware to be of different colors? Or do you have a uniform color for all of them? Do you buy because you like the color or design unmindful of the price that they are tagged? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

We have two primary colors that the majority of our china is. Before my husband and I met he had dishes that were cobalt blue. However, when we got married I requested some sage green dishes so we now have a mixture of the two different colors in our kitchen. Now we are trying to stick to these two colors for our kitchen. I like to see when people have only one color that they use, but for right now it just doesn't work for us.
When I am buying dishes for our kitchen, I am very aware of the price that they are asking for things and try to stick with what is the most affordable and also the most functional.

Hi Dorannmwin,
That is a good choice of colors that you got. Blue and green complement each other. I remember that was the color of our uniform when I was still working in a bank. It is a nice feeling having to see only a few colors and colors that coordinate with each other in the house. It gives me a feeling of order. Price is my biggest consideration, too. However, I do not sacrifice quality and usability against price. Thanks for sharing!

I cannot consider buying anything without looking at the price tag. As to dinner ware color, it depends. To my mind, fine china should be all the same, but stoneware and other casual dishes can be a jumble of compatible colors.

Hi Bellis,
Price is my deciding factor in buying things, dinner ware, glassware, etc. included. At first, I am easily attracted to the color and design. And when I go near to examine closely and find these to be expensive, I put them down and proceed looking around, lol.
Our casual wares and those that we use daily are a jumble of different colors. In buying, I always choose cheap but good ones.

Hi Atv818,
Good idea. It is nice to have one color coordination in the china cabinet and what we use on the table. It adds pleasure to eating and not just for the eyes.
Using assorted colors for chinaware, glassware, etc. would add more life to the party, in a way. A party is always a happy occasion and with the colorful motiff, it should be a very good thing to have.
