when helium.com was still entertaining writers from the philippines i'd get a first result in some key words when you look it up in google. not so anymore. which makes me wonder whether the web address one writes in has a lot to do with this. also does the no. of key words' presence in the article to account for this?

Hi Ritchelle, there are many factors involved, commonly known as onpage seo and offpage seo. Onpage seo refers to domain name, title, meta tags, keyword selection and keyword density. Offpage seo refers to the quality and quantity of incoming links. New article will always reach the top page for a day, and then re-rank to the right position. The only way to keep it in top position is to get a lot of incoming links.
