Everyone has their own beautiful place in their own neighborhood or as memory can allow a place of which you remember always. Growing up I have had the privilege of many great scenes. Recent beauties include the park near my husband's parents home where we'll take walks and watch the ducks swim in the pond. This park is Peterson Park. It includes a small water fall where people come and go to take pictures or lovers walk around. Every summer, we include this park in our places to go. So do you have a beautiful place near home you can't wait to go to or always want to go to whenever their isn't anything to do?

Norwegian fjord in fog - View from the stable where my horse lives, a river delta going out into the fjord in winter + sunset + fog
My favourite spot is right where my horse is stabled, so I ride there quite often. It is a river delta where a river joins the fjord, and it is protected because of all the wild birds living there. As the birds are less afraid of riders and horses than people walking, so we can get really close to them. There's swans resting there every winter, they look great on the ice.

I live in Southern California and there are tons of things to do. My favorite place to be is the beach, particularly Laguna Beach. DH and I go as often as we can. We live in the foothills and can be up in the mountains in about a half an hour and we are about 45 minutes away from the desert. When I want to go some place that is a lot closer to home, we live four blocks away from the botanical gardens. I love to take a good book or my journal and sit on a bench by the swan pond and read or write. We also have a wilderness park about a half a mile away. When I want to hike, that's where you'll find me.

Hello Lauren! You are so close to nature and very active as well. I wish I can go to the beach this second. Chicago's cold winter is just not getting any warmer. Brrrrr.

I've read about the storms back east. Try to stay warm. We're getting a lot of rain here but we really need it since we'e in a drought condition here. We've been on water rationing for the last couple of months and we're only allowed to water our lawns twice a week. Take care.

When I was a young child my friend and I used to walk on a picturesque hillside. Then it my teenage years all that land was built on. My family lived within an easy traveling distance of the city of London and the beaches of the Kent Coast. At the age of 19 years old I bought a little cottage. It was in a village close to beautiful countryside. A historic city was three miles away. I liked to walk and ride my bike in the countryside. I enjoyed going to different beaches. Five years ago I moved to a modern house after selling my little cottage in a different area. I live on the edge of a coastal town and my home overlooks open countryside. I like to go to Sand Bay and Up Hill. These are attractive looking villages by the sea. I enjoy sitting and walking on a Victorian Pier.

LOL, that's ok, at least the beauty is still there whether it be for relaxing or living. That's a very common thing which we seem to neglect. Thanks for sharing! :)

thuhuong well my beautiful place is the city I used to live in before my son lost his job and we were evicted from our apt there.Tustin California the city of beautiful trees and homes with great gorgeous flower beds. The street where our civic center was located is lined with Jacaranda trees and right soon they will be flowering, the whole trees will be covered with zillions of soft blue purple bells and they will look like a haze of purple all up and down that street.it is one spectacular sight and people often come to tustin just to see that street ,the blooms last for months too.Tustinites all care about their yards and make them so pretty. here in garden grove I still miss Tustin which was my homes for many years.

Hello Hatley! Tustin sounds like a wonderful place of many colors and vibrant neighbors. I bet there were a lot of tweeting birds who love the flowers as well. I'm sure after a long day, no matter what, it's lovely to be drenched in those beds of flowers huh?

How is the weather this time of the year? The winds are cold in Chicago so we can't go to outdoor places like the zoo and whatnot. I haven't bicycled around in ages. Sad to say with work and coming home, that's probably the last thing on my mind. I think I'm going to make it a goal this summer though :P

We have this creek nearby around 5 minutes or less to walk. I remember we used to stay and play by the creek. Across the creek there a mini lot and there's only one person who lived there. We used to cross their and play and go home with wet clothes and now I still can remember the worried face of my mother and her demanding words. She didn't want us to play there because the water might get high and we might get drown. We also used to fly a kite nearby the creek. However, that creek now has turned into an ugly place. I mean, it's not safe anymore to get your feet or skin being touched by the water because of a certain industry manufacturing coconut product called "Nata de Coco" and I don't how come they can get their waste trashed right to the water. And the last time I visited, recently, there was no water there, and it was somehow fun walking at the dry ground and looking around the place. Other else, I like going to the nearby beaches. Seeing the horizon and feeling the breeze of the sea wind is always a stress free feeling and I love it!

It's kind of sad to hear that some of your favorite places are gone because of environmental factors. Be careful too as much as you like the nature, I hope you don't get sick of what may be in the air near the water. Take cares!

Hi thuhong, I live close to a National Park here in Kentucky, its Mammoth Cave. We have many beautiful animals there and wonderful hiking trails. I love to go there with my family for a picnic, walk, or take our horses on the horse trails. It has some beautiful scenery with lots of woods, a river and many small streams, and of course the caves. You can see turkey, deer or squirrels almost everytime you go. We have seen a few snakes while hiking. I have been going for many years and dont think I have still covered every area yet.
