I don't know how to react!?!

Okay, so I went to my OB last week for my regular monthly check- up. She told me I might be pregnant again. My reaction was, "That fast?" I mean, I just gave birth to my 4 month old baby boy last September and she was telling me again that I might be pregnant. So it means taking pills does not work then huh? A week after I gave birth my OB asked me what type of family planning my husband and I want. She suggested taking contraceptive pills. So I said okay. Then, she is telling me that it did not work. I will be back again to her next week to confirm if I am really pregnant. I am just shocked and surprised because I just can't believe that I can get pregnant again that soon. Well, I bought a pregnancy test kit and it turned out positive confirming I am pregnant. That is why I stopped taking my pills. I am afraid on the possible side effects it will cause to my baby. I still have to go to her next week though to undergo an utrasound. Well, if I am really pregnant again I'll take it as a blessing and hope the baby is as healthy as my first one.

Good Luck and whatever the outcome is pregnant or not pregnant, congratulations on your son and possible pregnancy. I had some friends that had a baby girl in Jan. and then they had a boy in Dec. of that same year. It was almost like having twins, when they got older, people would ask if they were twins. So yes it is very possible to get pregnant even sooner than you did.

Yes! I'm really hoping that I will have a baby girl this time. However, if the baby is a boy then that will be fine as long as the baby is healthy. Thank you so much! :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Birth control pills are not 100% effective. A lady that has recently given birth can be highly fertile. It must be such an amazing surprise to be told you are pregnant at a medical appointment. Then you had your ultrasound examination and you are almost 14 weeks pregnant. Wow! I know that some ladies do get pregnant whilst on birth control pills and it doesn't cause the baby any harm. I read a leaflet after my baby daughter was born. It said it is possible to get pregnant again from three weeks after the birth onwards. I hope that your baby is healthy and you will have a wonderful time in the rest of your pregnancy.

Your baby sounds fine and it will be lovely for you to continue having a healthy time in your pregnancy. It is delightful to have a baby and then get a another baby shortly afterwards. The two children will play together superbly. Sometimes you can find out during an ultrasound scan from sixteen weeks onwards if you are having a girl or a boy. In 2007 I had a baby boy and in 2009 I had a baby girl. Good luck.

Hi, Ladyslipper. Congratulations on your new arrival! Yes, it is very possible that you can get pregnant just as soon as you have another baby. Once your body goes back to its normal stage, a woman hormones come back to their original stage and she can get pregnant. I know a few women that got pregnant after just having another baby. It is likely that this can happen. I know that you are surprised and shocked right now. But once, this baby begins to grow inside of you, you will welcome it with open arms. Take care.

Thank you so much! Both me and my husband were really shocked at first. Almost everyone in the office were shocked and surprised too especially one of my staffs. She and her husband have been waiting for so long to have just one baby and there I am ready to have another one. I consider my first child as a blessing and this new one will be our lucky charm and of course a blessing too. :)Take care too!

Well that is not as bad as my mom. She gave birth to my little sister in January and gave birth to my baby brother in November of the same year. Just think of it as a blessing and hope for a healthy baby. Good luck to you and your growing family.

Tha's what came into my mind also when I have learned that I am pregnant. Since they have just about 9 months gap then they would just be like "buddies". That is if the baby is also a boy. If the baby is a girl then I am not sure if they will get along that well. But of course I want them to love each other the way my siblings and I love and care for each other.

If a woman is not pregnant they can get that way once a month. Conterceptives are nice, but in reaality they aren't a cure-all. They have failure rates and quite often unless you don't ask, doctors won't tell you. So if you really don't want to get pregnant consider sugery, or cutting back on the love-making. However, congradulations if you are in fact pregnant a second or third time (don't know how many kikids you have).

According to my Doctor this is the first time that someone got pregnant with the pills that she has recommended. According to her she has been giving this to her patients ever since she became a Doctor which is for almost 30 years already. I guess there is always a first time and I am a record- breaker.

Birth control is not 100% effective so it is a chance you take. My wife is on the depo shot which we get every 3 months but we know that it is not 100% effective but we are taking the precautions and if she becomes pregnant we will look at it as a blessing. Congrats on the your boy and on your new baby

It really is a blessing since my OB diagnosed before that it will be hard for me to get pregnant. That's why at the age of 26 I decided to have my first baby and no longer wait for me to reach age of 30. Mine and my husband's plan is to have our first baby at the age of at least 29 or 30 but when my OB told me it would be hard for me to get pregnant so I'd better have a child at an early age I said okay. My aunt never had a child and ended up adopting. However, they treated their daugther as their biological child. That is the reason I feel blessed. :)
