We can help our hurting friend by just being there, listen to all of the pain and suffering they feel.. It is important that they'd be able to air everything out, cry it all out.. so that when all the pain is aired and all the tears are drained they would feel a lot lighter and better.. So sit with them for a while and listen.. just listen..

shutting up. lol when i see my friend hurt, i don't say a word, they just need someone to be by their side. my friend however, on the day she found out my ex boyfriend was cheating on me...cried with me. she didn't say, "i told you so," or "lets go and kill that biatch!" she just cried along ...then when she saw my ex visiting me to apologize, she turned into a fiery cat by clawing his face with anger. thats when i felt that her friendship mattered. we've been friends since 10 since this present. (i'm already 32) and that incident reminds me who to turn into when im hurt. not because she clawed my ex's face, but because she cried with me. ^^

Most of us, get angry when we are hurt. And we do not want anyone near us, especially those we love as friends. The best way to help, is to love them. Give them some personal and private space and always be there when they need to get that hurt out, whether by talking to you or just that closeness of someone else.
